I know that there are Glock and Taurus hatters out there, but this topic is not about which is the best of the two. It’s about the last two guns that I’ve bought and what I think about them.
First off here are the two guns.
I find that both guns have their pluses and minuses.
Let’s start with the magazines. Many people have complained that the Glock only has a 10 round mag. But doesn’t just about every other 22 semi on the market have just a 10 round mag?
The Taurus gets the thumbs up on magazine capacity. Sixteen rounds vs 10 is always a winner in my book. But that’s were the advantage ends.
The Glock mag is a better built mag in my opinion. Both have loading tabs on the sides of the magazines to aid in loading. The ones on the Glock is very easy to hold and pull down. The ones on the Taurus are small and hard to hold.
The Glock mag has thicker walls and is more rigged and has a stronger spring
The feed lips are also thicker.
But then time will tell which will hold up longer.
Next is the mag well. The Glock wins this one hands down. It is flared and nice and wide.
The Taurus is slightly flared, but nothing to write home about.
Magazines are easy to insert into both guns , but the Glock does have the advantage.
Next is the slide release and mag release.
I would say that both are equal on the slide release when it comes to location and both easy to operate. Now if you’re a lefty, the Glock has a plus with a slide release on the right side.
The mag release, I give it to the Glock. It’s bigger and easier to work.
I found that the ridge on the Taurus frame gets in my way sometimes.
Next is the grip. For those that don’t care for the shape of the Glock Gen5 grip, the G44 will not be your cup of tea.
But the Glock does give you the option of adding a different blackstrap, and the Taurus doesn’t.
The Taurus grip is shaped very close to the same as a Walther PPQ. This is a big plus for Walther PPQ fans.
But people can be funny about the shape of handgun grips so, it a toss up for most people.
I’m not crazy about the big hump of the Taurus grip, but I was never a fan of the PPQ grip.
Now I do like the texture on the Taurus grip.
And while we’re at the grip, let’s cover the trigger. The Taurus has a much better filling, and lighter trigger. Hands down the better of the two.
Next is the sights the Glock has the standard Glock U with a white dot front and the Taurus has the three dot. I’m not a fan of both. I much prefer a black rear and a dot front. But this will very deepening on the shooter. Both are useable, but the Glock rear sight seems a little heavier.
Well that’s all the pics I can put in one post so, standby for the rest.
