Anyone had their 2001-2002 Glock (E prefix s/n) sent in for this repair? What was your CS experience with Glock? Did Glock cover shipping charges to and from? Thanks.

Took about 8 days to get to Smyrna GA via FedEx ground.

For some odd reason they (Glock) did not start processing the gun for another month.:cuss: (I suspect this was just a one-time thing as I have not had any similar problems with Glock before or after this).

To be safe call them when the gun arrives to make sure things are moving along. ;)

If you want a G-serial frame turnover is typically ~4+ weeks.

For an Austrian frame ~6+ weeks.

Sorry for the late reply. :(

(Gun was a G21 SN EUY)

Perhaps you could specify, exactly, what this repair was about for the rest of us.....

As I recall, it was an un-specified "recall" -- the factory replaced frames because of a problem w/ the rails.

It was a frame upgrade (the rear slide rails, specifically, were the target of this upgrade). Supposedly, there is something like a 1/180,000 chance of a problem with them so the upgrade is free.

Gun was a Gen 3 G21 (.45).

You can check your Glock SN here to see if it has any upgrades available. You will need the first 2/3 characters of the SN (the starting block).

Took 5-6 weeks to get a frame from Austria with the "new" serial number (they prefix the upgraded frames with a 1 - ESTxxx becomes 1ESTxxx.). I paid shipping down, they had it back within a week over a weekend, including the night sights I had installed while it was down there.

Mine is a G-17 9mm, broke after about 7500 rounds. Customer service was prompt and friendly to deal with too.

The breakage was one of the little steel frame-rails. Apparently some were bent with a true 90-degree bend in them and broke at the bend after enough time and rounds. The new frame, and my G-26, both show a more arched bend to the rails.
