I just purchased a refurbished glock 34 which came with glock fixed factory sights. My other glocks have novak or trijicon sights but the factory sights were so dead on when I took it shooting I am thinking about keeping them. Do any other folks feel perfectly happy with the factory sights?

I do. My not so CCW Glock has the factory sights on it and I am completely satisfied with them.

If it was for CCW I would prefer night sights but it's not a must have.

I like em.. I have a G34.. at first they seemed kinda bulky, but they acquire rather quickly, and are pretty accurate..

I think I'll stay with em.. if I get a G26 or G19 for carry, I'll get night sights, probably heines or mepros.

You could stick with the standard sights if the gun isn't for carry. But I would recommend night sights on a carry gun. My P2000 does not have night sights on it right now so I do not carry it at night. However, it has been carried during the day. Until I get night sights for the gun, it will not be carried at night.

But don't let the alignment issue prevent you from getting night sights if you want. Glock sights are the easiest sights to adjust because only the rear one moves. Sigs and H&K's with their front and rear moving sights are a PITA to switch out if you aren't organized. I am not organized! LOL.

The front sight can loosen up, especially if during holstering/unholstering. I usually replace it with a metal version. I've never had the factory one come off, but I've definitely had one that was looser than I'd like.

Never had a problem with the rear sight so I don't mess with it.

Replacing the front sight won't change the point of impact unless the new sight isn't the same height as the old one.

I got one with the factory night sight. this seems staked on. I also got one with mepro. this one has a nut. I also got the regular plastic sights.

None of them ever came off.

If you end up getting Mepro's, make sure to use some locktite or clear fingernail polish on the front sights screw. Mine hasn't come off or loosened in almost 3 years with clear fingernail polish.

I like them on my G26, like was said above, they are pretty quick to acquire....in daylight/indoor light. I am shopping for night sight options though as I dont just carry in broad daylight...
