My father purchased a used full size Glock .40 S&W generation 2 (sorry can't remember the model #). The trigger does not return to the front after it is pulled. He has not fired it yet, just noticed it while cleaning it. I took the slide off to see what was the problem, but couldn't determine the cause. I am a Smith & Wesson/Sig Sauer man myself but since the Glocks were similar to my Sigmas, I thought I might look at it anyway. It feels as though a spring is missing to pull the trigger back to the front. You can push it back to the front with little effort, so it does not appear to be "catching" on anything. When dry firing, it will reset when I pull the slide back to cycle the "rounds", but I know that when firing live rounds it prob won't do that due to the speed of things. Is this something to worry about and need to get fixed? He uses it for home defense.

Pull the trigger, don't release it, and rack the slide the way it would work during shooting.

Then let the trigger up. Glocks are a pre-cocked striker fired pistol, it's halfway between a double-action and a single-action trigger.

You're good to go. If ever the trigger spring breaks and you NEED the gun to fire, turn it upside down. It will function normally(go figure, eh?)
