Glock recoil spring. Is there a trick to this?

I bought a steel, wolf, non captive guide rod and slightly stiffer recoil spring for my Glock model twenty. Problem is the guide rod doesn't want to slide into the spring. Should it be a really tight fit? This is really the extent of mods I'd like to make to this gun as I really like the way it shoots but a little more weight up front wouldn't hurt and it launches brass into orbit.

No - it should slide on easily. Did you buy a replacement spring designed for the stock captive guide rod, maybe? IIRC those have a smaller ID.

That's what it sounds like to me also.
The spring should slide right onto the rod with a little twisting motion at most.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll order another spring. I tried twisting it in but it doesn't want to budge. Thanks again.
