Glock vs. HK USP vs. Walther P99

I have a P99, my youngest son has a G17, and my oldest son is still trying to decide between a USPc and P2000.

All three are excellent guns and as reliable as the day is long. I doubt that there is any real difference in mechanical accuracy between the three guns, so it boils down to which one feels better in your hand to produce better practical accuracy.

I prefer DA/SA guns, so the Glock falls behind a notch for me. Take-down is a tad more complex on the HK (as though an old 1911 shooter should care). The Walther's trigger is... well, different, but I like it.

Maybe the best answer is to get one of each and enjoy them all.

As far as polymer guns in general, one of my sons has a Sig Pro, which is also outstanding.

Own a P99, fits the hand, accurate, good price. I would recommend the P99 to anyone looking for a nice pistol. I still have a couple more to buy.

Well, 3 1/2 yrs later I now own 3 P99s and no Glocks or HKs. I still need to buy a P99 compact as well.

I own a Glock 19, H&K USPc 40, and S&W SW99 45.

I like all of the guns, but I'd have to give the H&K the highest rating only because I am most accurate with it. The Glock looks like it's built to outlast the other two though. The SW99 which is the same thing as the Walther P99 also has a decent finish. I'd also say it is better than the Glock as far as accuracy goes. The SW99/P99 uses conventional rifling bore which might allow it to shoot lead bullets if you even care about that. The grip is best on the SW99 - hands down. I personally like all of the above, but I'd definitely pick out the H&K if I had to choose.

The funny part is, I practice with the Glock the most and I still can't seem to shoot as well as the other two pistols for some reason. I think it has to do with the grip angle of the Glock. I keep trying to get myself to shoot the Glock as well as the other two but it's not working.
