I've owned Glocks, can't say anything bad about them. They always went bang and fit my hand just fine. Recently though, I've been trading them for S&W M&P's in the same size and caliber. The biggest reason for this is that I like having the thumb safety on the M&P. Call me old fashioned, but I really feel better with some sort of external safety. I still have a G22 and will not be getting rid of that one, in fact it's the only .40 pistol I still own.
Ugliness? Paleezzz...there are much more uglier guns out there.
I find glocks have a handsome spartan look about them, sort of akin to rugged good looks vs ken doll handsomeness.
Looks aside they are great guns, I'd say they are most likely to be trouble free out of the box. Maybe even a bit boringly trouble free, like a good cordless drill. Yes sir, reliable, soulless, cold tools they are.
Glocks have a very, how do I say this...... efficient, tool like, all business look to them imho. Perhaps minimalist. It's plain, simple, and it works.
Kind of like a crow bar or hammer. They work, you dont care how they look, and it's okay if they get scuffed.
" That is why I own a Ruger LCP and not a Kel-Tec P3AT." Yeh, that and the kool-aid. Also:"Call me old fashioned, but I really feel better with some sort of external safety. " Glock DOES have an external safety. It has TWO, if we include the operators' brains. The brain also comes into play when a "Natural Point Of Aim" shooter forgets that a gun's sights are on there, not to be ignored. "... a different grip angle which is why some have problems with them shooting high." "Some" have problems that are inherent with non-use of sights. Such antics may lead to manslaughter charges if there is civilian collateral damage. Sight use is not connected to grip-angle anyway. Use your brain.
I think they stopped making PRETTY guns long ago. If'n ya want a glock, go get one, all the cool kids are doin it. I think i've almost convinced myself to get one.
