While I was waiting for the mechanic to finish the brake job on my truck, I wandered past a store with huge signs saying everything was at least 1/2 off and they were going out of business. Then I realized it was a gun store...

So, the big score of the day was a Winchester Model 12. I also picked up a Winchester single shot 22. Sorry guys, there were no 870's.

The bright side of the 10 day wait in CA is it gives me time to make space in the cabinet for the new purchases.

The shop is in Ventura, CA. The cross streets are Seward and Thompson, and it's two doors down from Brake Masters.

I was talking to the owner and it turns out he sold the building and has decided to spend some time with his wife. I get the feeling he'll be back in business in a year or two after some time off.

Ok, now that I've found the receipt, it is H & S Gun Sales, 2343 E. Thompson Bl, Ste B. (805) 643-1433

They were pretty cleaned out when I got there. A couple more Model 12s and a nice Colt Bullsye by Giles. Maybe a dozen assorted rifles and a dozen eclectic handguns.

There were a few accessories left, some ammo cans, assorted mounted animal heads, neon beer signs, and a few racks that were for sale.

Sorry guys, there were no 870's.
Which is precisely why they are going out of business.

:neener:

PS: of course, i admit that it could be they sold the 870's already cause
they were the best, and the first to go ....
