I am on the market now for something that is going to be my "FUN" gun....eventhough all of my guns are fun guns!! I am looking for something that is destructive and loud!

Here are the guns that I currently have

Glock 23
SKS
Browning 300 Ultra Mag (another one of my big and loud guns)
Mosin Nagant M91/35
Converted Saiga 12 gauge (semi-auto for those of you who do not know!)
Old Savage .410 over .22LR

I still cannot make up my mind if I want a .308 semi-auto rifle such as the DMPS or even the AR-10 or a novelty gun such as the Desert Eagle 50 or the 500 S&W, which I think would be pretty fun to shoot. Ammo cost is not really too much of a consideration.

I know it is soley a matter of personal taste, but some feedback always nice to hear. Lets hear from you guys which guns have the most fun factor other than the AK-47 since my SKS shoots the same 7.62x39 ammunition. I do not want a .223 right now..... mainly because I'm a bit of a recoil junkie:)

Thanks guys!

I was faced with almost that exact choice not long ago. Evil black rifle, or a hand cannon? I was trying to decide between either an AR-15 in 5.56mm (which I'd consider a "fun" gun because I really prefer 6.5mm Grendel and 7.62x39mm for social purposes), or a some kind of hand cannon, with the Serbu Super-Shorty at the top of the list.

I ended up getting a Super-Shorty. Dropped off my Form 4s with the county sheriff today.

If you don't mind taking the plunge into NFA, an AOW like the Serbu only has a $5 transfer tax. And 12 gauge in a gun that's only slightly larger than a .500 S&W Magnum is hard to beat. Momentumwise, slugs will give you about the same power as a .454 Casull.

Evil black rifle or a hand cannon..... what a great way to put my dilemma!

My Saiga 12 has a 8 inch barrel and it has been converted to a pistol grip and its also semi-auto and can hold 10 rounds in the magazine. I am pretty sure that no shotgun will come EVEN CLOSE to giving me the fun that my Saiga gives me!!! It is definately one of my most fun guns I own.

I wish I could get something in the 500 S&W caliber that was semi-auto since I am not particulary into revolvers for some reason.

If you go EBR there is a new POF .308 that sounds pretty awesome. Scary accurate (I think it was around .3"-.4" at 100yds) and a gas piston design so it won't poop where it eats.
The Ruger Alaskan in .454 would be near the top of my list for a fun hand cannon also.

Maybe with the upcoming election black rifles are the way to go?

Hitlery and Obama have both stated that they want to ban all semi-autos, and all handguns. So really, buy everything.

Also, how about something in .50 cal? Serbu should be releasing their semi-auto BFG around July.

The saiga 12 sounds like a good idea. I enjoy shooting mine.

I have found that anything with a silencer gets shot 10x more than anything else, just because of the convenience factor.

I recently bought another AK. WOLVERINES!

Destructive and loud... how about a 40mm? M203s are pretty common, and around $1500-$2000. M79s are a bit rarer, and I think go for like $6000-$8000. Practice ammo is about $8 a pop if you buy by the case.

I am in the POP camp :)

Piss Off Politicians.

Basically collect the whole would be both ideal and fun.

Ban Semi Autos and Microstamping...

Get a Black powder big bore revolver and Black powder shotgun. *pop*

Repeating firearms...

Single shot .22 rifle and single shot 20 gauge shotgun *pop*

It is for the Children...

Fine, get a extra .22 kids sized rifle, or bulk pack of ammo, eyes, ears, cokes, candy bars... and give to a kid to have fun as you have fun sharing with a kid and giving them junk food.
Bonus points if the kid gets to buy junk food from a evil vending machine. *pop*

Ideal fun to me is pissing off a politician and passing forward at the same time.

Loud, destructive, ammo not a concern, and no mention of price of the gun.

I would say get a 1919. Not too many people have those at the range.......

I know this might sound kinda lame, the way this thread is going, but my favorite guns are my .22s! You can plink all day for $15. With my $150 Heritage 6 shooter (which is TOTALLY reliable and accurate and has a fantastic trigger, thank you) I can shoot cans, baloons, and used shotgun shells, hunt bunnies and squirrels, and play fun cowboy action games like shooting from the hip without worrying about ammo cost. There's a huge variety of ammo, from quiet CB's (my favorite backyard plinker) to high velocity prairie dog rounds, to heavy slow bunny busting aguila sss. Plus .22s are great to introduce folks to the hobby and are the best way to improve your skills.

SA 6 Shooter: Heritage Rough Rider (only $150-200), Ruger Single Six, etc.
DA 6 Shooter: Charter Pathfinder, Taurus Tracker, S&W (if you're rich)
Semi Auto: Buckmark, Ruger MK I-III, Ruger 22/45, or a conversion kit for your glock (hey that's a good idea!)

Semi auto Rifle: Ruger 10/22
Bolt Rifle: TOZ-78 (I got mine for under $150, great trigger, 1moa accuracy), Savage MK II, CZ (if your rich)

LOUD ASS CANNON: Mosin Carbine M38 or M44 (WORSHIP THE FIREBALL)
my 22 cents....

.50 caliber or higher single shot muzzleloading pistol, your choice of flintlock or percussion (my choice would be percussion). Can be had without breaking the bank, and makes nice BIG holes in the target.
