Stirring up the silt on the pond floor...
I just played around with both the fullsize and compact versions of the HK45 today after a relaxing time at the shooting range. So to the net I went looking...
I have a USP-45,my only complaint is that it is not the decock only variant. It shoots 2" groups regardless of ammoe most every time at 25-30 yrds.Stove piped a few times when new but has been 100% for 10 + years.
I have a Glock M20 and an M21... both are reliable and very accurate with what ever...2" groups at 25-30 yrds.
I have a Springfield XD-45 DE Compact...same basic story as the others.
I have a SIG P-220...also same basic story.
I just got an FNP-45 four days ago and took it out for it's trial run today...500 rnds,no malfunctions other than difficult to feed first cartridge of first two magazines.10-12" groups of five when loaded one cartridge at a time no magazine...I had seen a thread talking about this odd deal, with mine it is true!Ok,hear is the realy cool part...two hand 1",ie one hole,14 rnd groups at 25 yrds messured off!!! Full magazines into ONE hole!!Repeatedly!!
The only reason this pistol shot wider groups was do to my owne excitement!!! To me this is the best out of box pistol I have ever shot.Revolver or semi.A total pleasurein every way.If even most of the others are like this one HK is in trouble!! Have any of you seen the FNP-45 Military prototype? If that one actualy comes to be I'll get TWO!!
Sorry for the run on but this BIG girl is just so impressive!! And there in lies the problem for most folks it would seem...It is BIG!! Fortuneately for me I have hudge gorilla hands.
Back to the HK-45. I personaly quite like it.Even with my all too resent experience at the range with my knew FNP-45. I would have prefered that it had retained the two lost rnds in favor of a thicker side to side grip profile as it feels too narrow to my hands. If it where thicker it would feel perfect to me.$995.00 +$10.00 background check.
Out of all the handguns I own and have owned I like the USP/HK45 magazine releases the best.I freakin' love the slide release on th HK-45! Secound to that I like the FNP-45 magazine release.
I will get an HK-45 becuase I like like my USP-45 and it feels rather nice AND I like guns! I am fairly sure it will shot just as well as any of the others. However IF I could only have one semiauto .45 it would be the FNP-45 hands down!! US made and I got mine for $513.00 total and it came with 3 14 rnds mags!!!
Just thought I would toss that out there.
