Hi- New to this forum. Just found it. have been a shooter for 35+ years. Love my revolvers and want to carry my SP101's (have a 3 inch and a 2 inch). The Bianchi 3S with it's tiltable locking cant is nice, but I don't know if it is made for the SP101. What's another tilting IWB made for the Sp101? I like the snap attachment method to secure a holster to the belt, and I must have a thumb release. Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to THR! Sit and stay a spell.

You might get more responses in the Firearms Accessories forum, but I will put this 2 cents in.

I have had great luck with the Milt Sparks (www.miltsparks.com) Summer Special II for an SP101 with a 3" bbl. This hides well, stays put, and is comfortable. It uses a dual snap loop system that is easy on and off, has a metal reinforced mouth for easy re-holstering, and great retention. In fact, it has sort of taken over as my daily carry -- this was not really a deliberate decision, it just sort of snuck up on me.;)

I am not a fan of holsters with a thumb break. Don't think they are needed or desirable in a properly designed and produced holster, although I know that this is a matter of opinion.

Maybe someone else will be along that has some suggestions for holsters with the strap.

Hello TheEgg and thanks for the welcome/info. I went to Milt Spark's site and the SS2 sure is a handsome holster. I also like the Executive models. I am wondering though if the Summer Special 2 loops can be adjusted for tilt should I decide to wear in a cross-draw style, or more to the front or back on strong side. My middle-aged fat seems to shift sometimes and comfort (preventing chafing) means adjusting location a little. I have a 2 inch SP101 also and wonder if the shorter barrel model would work in the 3 incher holster too--just have to find out. I grew up with thumbsnap holsters and just tend to view them for me as an extra bit of security should I take a spill in the woods (or at the mall). Be a few days before I can get back to the board. Look forward to frequenting it. Thanks again.

While it's not avail w/ a thimb break, I've been carrying my SP101 (2 1/4" bbl) in a Mitch Rosen www.mitchrosen.com "Workman" for 6 or 7 years now. I find it quite comfortable for all day wear and quite secure. Yeah, it cost a bit more than the mass produced machine made ones, but well worth it. It was my first piece from Mitch's shop and every holster since then has been from him. (6 of his pieces now)

Welcome to THR toolmaker!

There are a number of holster makers that will make the holster of your choice for your Rugers. One with which I have had excellent sucess is FIST http://www.fist-inc.com/. They make a wide variety of holsters for an equally wide variety of guns. Check out the web site and see if any of those holsters fit your needs. Further, they have an "800" number and feel free to call them and talk to them about your particular wants, needs, etc. In my experience they produce an excellent holster at a very reasonable price. Good shooting;)

Hey there -- welcome to THR -- I carry mine in a BladeTech. It's light and breathes very well. There is another guy on here that also carries his in a BladeTech, and he's got a pic of it. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it-- great CCW IWB holster
