Good "quiet" Brake for my AR?

Kachok, you aden't arguing from an informed position. The brake you keep insisting is a flash hider (Ops Inc. 2-port brake) is not anything of the sort. I own one and it shoots a giant fireball out of each port. It is designed to be a muzzle brake and primary blast baffle for the suppressor.

Second, and I think Sam has hit this point repeatedly now - the main advantage of a brake on a .223 is to make recoil even more manageable. With a braked .223, I can spot my own hits through a scope from a stable position or shoot on the move and make hits even if my form isn't exactly perfect. It is a huge advantage that anyone with a shot timer can easily demonstrate.

Sam, I don't have any experience with the brake you pictured, so I can't comment.

OP, the Triple Tap is made out of Inconel to be the host mount for a suppressor and it is Knights, so it is super pricy.

The AAC brake cover basically acts like a suppressor with no endcap or baffle to direct the blast forward. The KX3 is really more of a flash hider but an 8oz weight on your muzzle tends to have some recoil dampening characteristics.

OK then, well I guess the noise makers win this vote, I am out yall do what you want to but shoot that crap next to me on an open firing line to show off how loud your stupid toy is or trying to run me off the line, don't be suppressed when a high powered magnum goes off right over the top of your head.

Someone who exhibits such a total lack of self control should *never* be allowed to come into possession of a firearm.

Thankfully, in my state, such behavior is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

A person is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree when, under
circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, he
wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to an other person.

Nothing high road about that comment...

I understand that you are frustrated, but that was very much uncalled for.

Let me make this clear:

#1 It is a shooting range and guns are loud
#2 People have the right to shoot WHATEVER they bring, as long as it's a free country, the weapons are handled safely, and all rounds impact a backstop.
#3 You do NOT have the right to advocate unsafe gun handling, period. That crosses the line.

Nothing high road about some jerk running you off your target with a fracking unnecessary mall ninja toy either, but it is the ugly truth. Am I doing anything to him that he is not doing to anyone else with the misfortune of being nearby........? No! You would have to be an absolute A-hole to go shoot that braked ultra-carbine BS next to someone else when there are 20 other shooting lanes open. That happened to me just the other day and I am still pissed about it.

May be an uncalled for comment, but you know what, being nice and just saying something to them does not work, wearing plugs and muffs does not stop that crack from ringing your bell, only thing you can do is move and hope they don't follow you. I would love to see someone give them a taste of their own medicine for once.

Tell you what, come to a match. Watch us shoot, even me and I am not good, and you will see what everyone is trying to tell you. Are they loud? Yes. Are they annoying? Can be. But no more so than the guy next to me camped out on his bench yoked up in a bench rest shooting slow fire and never calling for a cold range to check targets because his are at 25 yards. But hey at least he is under 1moa... And they really do work.

Having a comp or brake on an AR is not about reducing unbearable recoil. It is about shaving 1/10 of a sec off your time to place better. That could very well be the difference between 1st and 2nd. Or 14th and 15th in my case. And I will use any legal means to gain the advantage.

I am being sarcastic to make a point, we all enjoy different aspects of our sport. No one is more right or correct than another.

And if I really want to make you angry I will bring out my 45-70 carbine with the ported barrel shooting my hunting loads. Makes a brake on an AR seem like a gentle spring breeze.

But we are done here.
