Around Central Florida .38 Special Wadcutter runs near $40. I was hoping someone knew a source for online buying of .38 Special Wadcutter at a decent price. I'm not reloading yet and will probably reload for them once I get the kit ordered. I want to use the ammo as a good transition round from .22lr to .38 Special. I'm waiting on my official paperwork to be a NRA certified Basic Pistol Instructor, and want to be able to offer .22lr in SA for instruction on basic fundamental target shooting but also establishing a reoccuring rappourt with my clients so they can climb the caliber ladder. When I've taught others to shoot I've gone straight to 9mm(I don't own one any longer, sold it to a cousin for her CCW) or .38 special. And I can live with the idea of owning a .38 Special revolver better than a 9mm semi.

Plus in a litigious society, even with the NRA insurance, I don't want the headaches of, "you taught my client's attacker how to use a machine gun (foolishy refering to a semi) with a high capacity magazine", when I taught them to shoot on either Sigma or Sig P6 surplus.

I see that as likely as being sued for being a vampire.

Are you aware of it EVER happening?

There are a lot of things to worry about. That isn't one of them.

Sorry for the added bit, got a couple strange looks from a guy I told I was teaching only revolvers for the class and got uppity about it I guess. He gave me garbage about not wanting to teach semis because that's all he owned (happened at the gym). Thanks for the info though.

Check www.mastercast.net. It's a reload service that is prompt, inexpensive and reliable. I have fired off more than six thousand of their products, mostly .38sp 148WC and 158SWC. Never a problem. You can really save a bundle if you send them your brass in exchange (same type and quantity). If you choose to do that, send it USPS Priority Mail. I send a thousand cases that way for nine bucks and change. Any other way I know of costs more than twenty.

Cordially, Jack

I just looked at the link for "Ammunition to go" with the S&B and Fiocchi wadcutters. It did not state which type of wadcutter. I prefer HBWC for my target shooting and all the commercial casters are producing DEWC. I buy my HBWC in either Remington bulk bullets or Speer bulk. I have seen Hornady HBWC listed for 38, but have never seen them in stock at any of my suppliers.

+1 for mastercast. I am working my way through my 5000th round from them. As Jaydubya states, they are a 1st class company with great prices.

Canned Heat from Georgia Arms is good and when purchased in lots of 500 or more come packed in 30 cal ammo cans ... I have a shipment of 500 rounds on it's way that cost me $160.00 inc shipping. The brass is generally great for reloading.

ETA ... I rec'd my order today and rather than the quality ammo cans used in the past it arrived in a cheap plastic box.
