Never ever consider a reloading press as an investment to lower the cost of your ammo. It won't. I know, it only cost me ~ $4/50 to reload .45 Colts vs $19-$23 locally for 'Cowboy' loads (I chose this as a better comparison than the requested .38 Spcl...) now. That doesn't include the amortized cost of the equipment... long ago 'paid off' here. Then, there is that continual quest for more lead... more primers... more dies ... additional calibers... checking pet stores for ground-up walnut hulls (bird bedding) for the tumbler... You go to the range with a bag full of revolvers... a bag full of bullets... and you won't leave until all of your brass is empty... you see more useful brass in the garbage can... your normal life is over. Now, you shoot to reload...
Room? I know a guy with a bigger press than mine (I have a Dillon 550B.) that uses a B&D Workmate to support his - in an apartment! He stores his goodies in a closet... Oh, and a Dillon press? Who'd ever want something so utilitarian and dependable as a Dillon? I still thank the folks who finally convinced me to start reloading fifteen months ago... what a thrill to shoot your own ammo! I shoot a lot more now... Gotta go, I plan a range visit this AM to yield more reloadable brass...
