I need a slide stop for a S&W 1076. I've had one on back order from Midway for over a year and Gun Parts corp shows them as out of stock. Any other good sources of 3rd gen parts I should try?

Have you called S&W?

Brownell's is worth a look too.

Numrich is now called Gun Parts Corp.

I have a 3rd gen S&W and I have heard on the S&W forum that S&W will still do work on them if you ask nicely.

Parts kits come up fairly often for similar calibers: Have seen for a 10mm (s'been a while) more common for 59 or 45 series. Usually have slide stop (amazing how expensive/rare those durn things are). Look at Numrich to figure out which is common for 10mm.
Cheers, TF

Recently I needed a part for one of my 3rd generation gun. The 6906 needed a new right decocking lever. I called S&W and they mailed one to me. They still service them and parts are available.

If the part is the same as the one for the 1026 then there's one on ebay right now.

I believe S&W has a lifetime guarantee on the 3rd gens right? If you're broke, they should fix it for free.
