Good Source for Binocular Information?

I'm preparing for a photo safari to Africa this summer. I checked out 10 x 42 Swarovski EL binoculars at Sportsman's Warehouse the other day and fell in love. Before I make an impulse purchase, can anyone recommend a good online source of info and discussions on binoculars? Thanks.

The nicest I have ever used is Fujinon 7x50, but the are very big and heavy.

The Nikon 9x25 fit in my pocket.

I used to be on a list discussing binoculars and telescopes but unfortunately it is no longer active. The material is available as documents for downloading, but with a sort of random input, subject question and answer content it would take you forever to wade through it all.

If your budget can handle Swarovski, I would highly recommend Leica and Zeiss. All three are first class. IMO 7x42mm or 8x42mm are the most useful all-rounders. Whatever you decide on, make sure they are fully waterproof.
