Wather's replacement of the broken slide on my P22 went above what I expected.
Full story: I let them know that I was not the original owner, that I had +/-2000 rounds through the gun, and that I bought the gun from a gun range with an unknown round count. And I asked for the cost of a replacement slide if it was not covered under warranty. They asked that I send the broken slide in (that was at my expense, $6.25, via USPS priority mail). Three days after they received it, I got an email notice that Walther was sending a package. The new replacement slide arrived yesterday, covered under their lifetime warranty, value including their shipping of just under $110.
While the P22 has its limitations, it is a fun little range plinker. Both experienced and new shooters I've taken to the range have had loads of fun with it, & it's my wife's favorite gun.
Bad customer service rightfully gets called out, so I felt obligated to give credit for good customer service. I bought the gun used, it likely had 10,000 plus rounds through it, & I would have gladly paid for a new slide; Walther made good on their lifetime warranty.
