In My Own Small Way

I did indeed make it to the range yesterday.

The "initiation target" for my Taurus PT911 (9mm) is attached.

A total of 21 rounds were fired. I can account for 20. One of them was a real flyer.

For "Joe," for all who have gone before, and all who remain.

With tearful eye....

~ Salute ~

"Thank You for your service. May you find your well-earned rest."

I just attended the funeral of my best friend's father a few weeks ago - a sailor who served on an Landing Ship in WWII - and was honored to be a pallbearer for him. I wish now that I had thanked him for his service again before he passed, but such is life. Theirs was a generation of heroes - and we should all mourn their passing.

Hand Salute!

RIP - Joe.

What a heartwarming story.

I will make sure to thank my wife's grandfather for his service in WWII at Guadacanal, as I have never done that before (he doesn't like to talk about it).

Sounds like a gentleman it would have been an honor to know. May he rest in peace.

Thank God Joe was not one of a kind,

but please, God, give us more like him.

Thank you, Joe.

Rest well.

Sitting here with tears in my eyes feeling like a boob but not caring. Sounds like a good man, and you do too. When I go i want it to be just the same.

+1
