Been wading the creek and hunting hogs in swamps and thickets. i neglected a feeder just outside the grassy swamp where hogs hang out. The feeder is about 65 yards from the swamp, on the other side of the levee.
Got in the stand 40 yards from the feeder at about 19:30. Feeder ran at 19:45 and 20:30. At about 20:40 here came a sounder lead by a sow that weighed about 150 pounds. Distance was about 40 yards. The sow bang flopped at the shot.
i really do hate to mess with hogs at night in the 90 degree heat and all the bugs. Stripped the hams and the back straps. Left the rest for the buzzards and coyotes.
