Got a soft spot for tuned Kahrs

I carried a Kahr .40 the last few years I was working. I gave it to my daughter when I retired. I missed it and on a trip to a local gun show they had a stainless steel K40 on the table. I didn't hesitate a second and it came home with me. I don't carry it much anymore but it's a pistol that will stay with me. I got the CT 380 as a CCW and it's been very handy. I do leather as a hobby, so I've always used a homemade pancake holster to carry them on my belt. But old habits die hard and for me that where my pistol belongs on my belt. The pic below is of my wifes S&W EZ, but my Khar holsters look exactly the same.

Makes me almost regret letting my T9 Elite go.

I've never owned a steel-framed Kahr, but everyone I talk to says they are the bomb. Everyone I talk to that has had one... and sold it for whatever reason... regrets it.

I LOVE my poly Kahrs... I probably wouldn't know what to do with myself if a K9 turned out to be better than my CW9...

Been giving all my Kahrs some of the same treatment. The business around the ejection port was a bit gritty. Been working with them for smooth operation

I currently own a Kahr PM9 which has been my faithful EDC companion for nearly 20 years...plus a Kahr P45 which has been my bedside companion for nearly the same period of time.
Also owned a CW380 which I gifted to a close friend's wife as she was able to conceal it and shoot it well.

Nice. I like them too, especially the trigger. When my ship comes in I'll get a K9. :)

My K9 has survived the cut every time while others went down the road, just a peach of a pistol. I’ve never regretted the purchase.

I keep it simple when it’s off the nightstand and out and about.

Bought a CW9 for dad which I thought he might not carry. I could not have been more wrong.

When arthritis got the better of dad the CW9 came back to me (I foolishly sold it) and he too went the way of the Shield, an 9EZ in this case.

The steel kahrs are in a league of their own

Question for you: Did you ever shoot both of those pistols side-by-side? What makes the K9 mo' better than the CW9? I'm not talking about poly vs steel, but shooting impressions and the way they handle. A K9 is on The List, but it's pretty far down, below things like a HiPower or another .41 revolver. Maybe it should be at the top of the list...

Had my K9 for years. I tried a CW9. The K9 grip is thicker due to the rubber grips which also absorb some of the recoil. The added weight of the K9 helps also.
I find the extra weight also helps the balance of the pistol in my hand. I have the front strap checkered, so with the rubber grip it just feels great in my hand.
Love shooting it.

I never owned or been interested in the polymer Kahrs. The steel frame my favorite. I EDC the K40. I just need to add a T9 and T40.

How you like those lakelines on the mk’s? The plastic panels are too thin, and my wooden ones are too thick for me. Seems like the laminate might be the best “in the middle”?

It simply fills my hand better, and normally I like small grip inserts with polymer guns but the Kahr is as close to a laser as I own in a compact. As others mentioned the weight and rubber grips help with recoil management and the polygonal rifling I feel aids the accuracy.

Compared to the CW9 which I really did like, the K9 just feels nice; no rough texture needed, no sense that the heft is missing when I expect it to be there in a firearm.

As much as I enjoy my Kahr, I’d not bump your other choices down for the sake of one.
