CZPreB came up last night with a nice brown box - a 1943 M38 Mosin Nagant in superb shape. Can't wait to finish cleaning it, and then go blasting.....right after I buy a recoil pad, AKA sissy pad.

Congrats! I got one (also a 1938 made in 1943) two weeks ago and shot it for the first time last weekend.
Get ready to be hammered! That's a lot of cartridge for such a light rifle. A lot of fun though, and pretty accurate (1" groups at 50 yards) too.

Congratulations! I'm a firm believer in the sheer value military surplus rifles and handguns possess. I'm beginning to understand what some here have been saying for a while. Money does seem to leave one’s bank account at accelerated rates soon after receiving one's C&R, but hey... it's an investment (in more ways than one).
