got my USC/UMP SBR conversion back

Just got this back from Ed@HDPS on Monday and it looks great!!!

It started like this.

10 round mags, fixed stock, 16" barrel



And ended up like this.

25 round mags, folding stock, 7" barrel





I went to shoot it Monday night and had no problems keeping everything in a softball sized group at 15 yards rapid fire. I had wanted to SBR something for awhile and after I saw some pics of HDPS conversions I decided to go that route. I'm VERY happy with it. Eventually I might get the barrel threaded and get a can, but that won't be happening anytime soon.

BTW-If anyone is wondering it took about 8 weeks to get the Form 1 back from the ATF.

cool. is that a HDPS conversion? they did mine years ago before the prices went through the roof.

mine (also SBRd but the older grease gun mag conversion) is very accurate. no problems hitting coke cans at 50 yrds.

It is an HDPS conversion.

Between the USC, Navy lower, UMP stock, tax stamp for the SBR, and all necessary parts and labor you'd be looking at about $2700.

I wanted an MP5 clone from an HK 94, but that would have been $4k+. I couldn't justify that.

those barrels are pinned in and relatively easy to swap. You can find UMP barrels and go that route and be as close to the real thing as you can get. Not to mention Gemtech and AAC both make cans to work with the UMP flange




and although your's is much closer to real than mine, I have no qualms about my original Vector V94 pistol I SBR'd 2 years ago

I didn't get a UMP style barrel with the flange just in case I decide to get a suppressor I'll be able to use it on another gun. I've also heard that the UMP flange mount has a tendency to get loose.

Awesome, I shot an FA one and recoil was not that bad I'd love to have one, Michigan does not allow SBR's, yet.
