Got the Utah non-res carry permit in the mail today. :D I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland where carry permits are almost non-existant. So this is pretty cool.

Funny thing is, (or not so funny) when I go to PA or VA, where I could now carry, I don't feel unsafe. The only place I feel unsafe is when I'm in Maryland. And of course Maryland does not recognize other state permits. I still think it's a good thing to have though. The class was well worth taking also.

Grats man! I don't know how i lived so long without mine.
I have really been paying more attention to the news on TV now and its crazy everywhere now.Places i visit from the time i was a kid are now known for brutal murders,it doesn't take a big city.
Our class in ohio was 12 hours,i did it in one day.I hope to never have to do that again.

Utah is a good permit to have. Recognized in a couple of states not covered by Florida or my home state license.

I just sent in my Utah renewal papers. That only cost $10 for the renewal and $10 for notarizing. I've learned to buy extra passport photos, so, had one already.

With Utah, Florida and my home state, 34 states are covered. I've actually carried in 25 of them.

States like Utah highlight how disrespectful some states are of their residents when it comes to self defense (my state included).

What's the story on Utah's Governor though, like he wanted to kill reciprocity or something?

He may be more interested in killing his political future.

But, his recent rantings is why I sent in my renewal a few months early of expiration.

I got mine recently as well, and was dissappointed to discover that Nevada dropped reciprocity with Utah this summer, and Colorado only accepts Utah permits if you are a Utah resident.:(

FYI, I just received my Utah CCW permit renewal. They mailed it out eleven days after I placed the application in the mail.

Guess their process is efficient enough to handle the demand.
