How many of you guys have a Utah permit to conceal carry?? I live in MN and will be taking a class for the Utah permit soon. I am hoping MN continues to accept more states permits in the future. I will hunt SD and ND in the future and that's why I want the Utah permit. MN only grants SD reciprocity out of the 2 states I listed.

The proficiency test MN give out is no problem to pass for me. This is one thing I made and will continue to make sure I can successfully pass before and during carrying.

Just curious if anyone else went the route I'm going to be able to carry in more states?

Utah permit

I do not have a Utah permit but I am a Utah Concealed Firearms Instructor. I do have my NC permit though. We teach near a military reservation and the Utah Non-Resident permit is great for this transient population. Too bad there are states such as the hypocritical Florida that do not accept Non-Resident permits. The most recent addition to that list is Colorado due to the influx of California influence. Utah's permit is a great deal. Congratulations on selecting this option.

I received my non-res UT permit last year and I'm very glad I made the effort. Just be prepared for a substantial wait. Word got out of the ease and low cost to acquire one and they've been flooded with applications. My permit took about 75 days to get to me.

Many here are waking up to the option of the Utah permit . Our local instructor is certified to give the additional training required to get the Utah non-resident permit.

If all stands the same as today when I have to re-new I will take that option. If I traveled more I would do it sooner. There has been a waiting period to process the Utah permits because they were overwhelmed a bit by nation wide non-residents. Not sure what this wait is today.

Thanks, the instuctor's wife actually told me they were taking between 60-90 days so I'm prepared. I'm not in a hurry anyway although sooner is always better.

New Hampshire is also a good non-resident to obtain and it also includes the Dakotas....and cheaper..

I have both my Utah and Florida permits. Florida takes about 60 days and Utah is now running closer to 80 days.

GA & UT here

I thought of getting a few other non-resident cards, but realized they would inflate the wallet without adding carry territory.
