GP100 327 Mag?

As for noise, in .357, 158 gr loads arent as bad as 125's. 180 gr loads arent bad at all. A little more than .40 perhaps.

I've fired up to 100 gr bullets in .327. That was loud and I wouldn't carry those. I would carry a milder .327 load like the 85 gr Federal. That was more tolerable.

But what I actually carry is a warm .32 magnum in an LCR.
It's not a surprise seeing how many opt for .32 Mag instead of .327 in revolvers, I'm more or less one of them. The only two true .327 loads that I find worth using for a handgun are the 100gr JHP and 115-120grain lead with the JHP being a defense load on par with 125gr .357 and the 115/120gr lead being along the lines of a 158gr .357 load. There is a definite difference in blast between the two and lately I've been reloading and shooting more of the 115gr bullets I have because the accuracy is better and the blast is not overwhelming like the 100gr XTP under 11.4gr of AA9 are.

It was said recently on a forum I think about Charter Arms being asked to make a .327 again and they said they wouldn't because it's "meant for rifles" and I can't help but agree. Like with the .32-20 long ago having two loads one for revolvers and the other, much hotter load for rifles, that's pretty much where .32 Mag and .327 Mag are. I can appreciate the ability of being able to shoot thousands of rounds worth of .327 in a revolver because the revolvers are being built to take it, but it's not something I really feel I need most of the time in a handgun. Were Ruger to make a .32 Mag LCR, they could use the lighter Aluminum frame instead of steel. The cost would be less than the .327 LCR, but the issue with buying any .32 Mag revolver is I don't think they're built to take more than the 21K PSI, even tho .32 Mag itself is very capable of going above that.

All it takes for manufacturers to download their ammo is one poorly made gun and the H&R/NEF .32 Mag revolvers from the 80s were it.

I've been saying for a while that if SAAMI made a .32 Mag +P and those were loaded hotter (say 30K PSI max) that it would fill the gap and make for a more powerful, yet not overwhelming in blast, recoil, etc. that .327 has. Never gonna happen, so in the meantime the next best option is for someone to come out with a "reduced recoil" .327 load that is in a .327 case, but loaded way down in that above .32 Mag pressure range, but nowhere near full power .327.

Federal makes a "reduced recoil" 85 gr Hydrashok in .327.

I have some and it splits the difference between .32 mag and a regular .327.

I like my LCR being chambered in .327 because I know it's very safe for hot .32 magnums.

Should have bought that 3" SP-101 in 32 HR mag I saw at at a gun shop about 14yrs ago. Dang it.
