Here's a post I put on another forum. I think this may be interest to THR members. Southern Ohio Gun has a nice deal on DAO Ruger GP100s...
Just got my Ruger GP100 from Southern Ohio Gun. Price was $249 (before handpick, shipping, and FFL transfer). I was really pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. Chambers looked like it hadn't been fired (although I'm sure it was) and the bore was mirror bright. However, what was advertised was a 4" barrel and as you can see, what I got was a 3". I'm not too upset about that (it gives me a reason to add to the stable down the road.)
Accessories that came with the gun are a nearly-new leather Safariland retention holster, speedloader, speedloader carrier, and 6-round bullet band.
Firing it at the range was something of a disappoinment of which I am still trying to sort out. At 10 yards, groups ran in the 1.5-2 inch range but were centered about 3 inches left of POA. To rule out human error, I fired my SP101 and then my Hi-Power and both shot to POA. I then dry-fired the GP100 and noticed I had a tiny flinch to the left on the trigger break. After a day of dryfire practice I went to the range a second day. I was still hitting left of POA but not as bad. I left the range perplexed. Later, while cleaning the gun I noticed the front sight is not staked firmly in place and has a fair amount of wobble. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and all will be well.
All in all I am happy with the purchase. This is about the 3rd purchase from SOG and I recommend them..
