I acquired one of the police turn in GP100's that SOG was selling a few months ago. It's a 4 inch with a bobbed hammer and its DAO. Came with a holster and a new speedloader for $249 including my FFL fee.

It was in excellent used condition. But the timing and lock up left a little to be desired. It had a bit more experience than I had hoped for.

I sent it in to Ruger just three weeks ago and asked them to bring it back within factory spec.

I got it back today, the lock up is like new.

No Charge.

It just does not get any better than that for service.

Thanks Ruger!

No kidding!

Just last friday I broke the firing pin on my mark II while shooting, called Ruger the next monday, and they sent me the parts... no questions asked. No need to show proof of ownership or warranty or nothing. Just 100% outstanding service.

I was also really glad that I was talking to an American rather than some $1.00 an hour outsourced to India type fellow that you normally encounter for computer support. God, I love this country!

I like practicing with the GP100 at the range.

Also, today, I just bought a Mark III Hunter 6 7/8" fluted barrel with fiber optic front sights. It's 11+ inches long with 9+ inches sight radius. I love the feel of it, and have read a lot of great reviews about it in magazines. I'm in California, so I have to wait 10 days to gain possession of it. I can't wait!

I can also vouch for Ruger's customer service. Except, in my case, I had to wait a few days for a part because the offices were going to be closed for a few days for Christmas.

They sent me the part; didn't even want the old one as proof that it was broken. If I'd lost it, I supposed they'd have sent it to me, too.

And I am more than happy to support a private-sector business that still gives its employees a real Christmas break. That's cool!

I broke the rear sight blade on my GP100 a few years back and they charged me to send a new one out.
That's bizarre... I ordered a couple of parts awhile back, making it clear that they were only spares, not replacements for broken or faulty parts. When I asked what the charges were, they said there would be none. Didn't even charge me postage...

I'm another Ruger fan. As far as I'm concerned no better service period!!(And regardless of what some seem to think, they are damned good guns)

Ruger-I have never had customer service like i did a couple weeks ago when I lost the cylinder latch pin out of my super blackhawk. One call 7 days no charge-------------Priceless
3 RUGERS now got me
DUDE

I have no major problems with Ruger's customer service, except two of their customer service reps never return my messages left on their voice mail concerning a defective product.

Yes, that was a good deal for a fine defense gun, especially since Ruger made your gun shipshape for free.
