...Yesterday the Mercer Law School 2nd Amendment Society had its first big event, a forum/debate on the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Two Constitutional law professors formed the panel and one argued the individual rights side interpretation and another argued the collective rights interpretation (its more of a perversion than an interpretation if you ask me)
We were shocked that about 100(!!!) students showed up to watch the forum, and lots of them asked pro-rkba questions...
This is by far the biggest club event at Mercer Law School all year, we outdrew Sonny Perdue (Gov.) by 15 students!
We are getting the word out about the 2A!

Strange that was the case. My sister-in-law just graduated from Mercer and she said most of the perspectives were extreme leftist. Glad to see that RKBA is at least making some in-roads.

I recall seeing it written that Prof. Lawrence Tribe of Harvard (?) Law School, who wrote the most used textbook on Constitutional Law, came over to the Individual Right side of the 2A, and the discussion of it in the latest edition of his text frames it that way.

I haven't dragged my butt down to the University bookstore to check it for myself.

Outstanding! I thought you were going to say that the PC statist/pacifist crowd booed the pro-2A speaker off the stage.

jpthegeek, yes there are many leftist profs.......in fact, i cannot name on true conservative professor
however, the prof we got to argue the individual rights side, despite being very liberal himself, is open minded enough to realize that the 2A is an individual right and argued that side VERY effectively
this may be the first time he has taken a side on the 2A, but he did good for our side :D

and their are many conservative students at mercer, for example, the Mercer law republicans is the largest club here

but the mercer second amendment society is now the largest crowd drawer
:D
