Browning has been very good to me, both times in firearms I purchased used and simply wanted to purchase new parts for. First time was on a Gold Hunter 3.5 with a broken forend, they asked that I send it in and they would get back to me. Never heard a word till it showed up on my doorstep with new walnut at no charge. Second time was a BAR MkI with a buggered up crown from the previous dingbat owner. They asked I ship the rifle, the returned it cut and crowned at no charge.

Taurus was great to me when I lost the firing pin while cleaning my 608. In the course of 3 weeks they replaced the part no charge and polished the forcing cone.

Ruger and Federal have been good to me. My wife was shooting one of my Ruger MK II pistols about a month ago. The gun kept stovepiping. It was recently cleaned so I knew it wasn't that it was dirty. The next thing I know the bolt ears pop off the gun and hit my wife in the cheek (she wasn't hurt, just startled). I have heard of this happening on some of the MK II's so I immediately called Ruger. They told me to send the complete bolt back.

I figured I'd call Federal as well and let them know what happened. I told them I didn't think the ammo was double charged but I wanted to be on the safe side. Federal sent UPS to pick up the remainder of the ammo from that box.

Ruger sent me a replacement bolt free of charge. The only thing was that they sent back a stripped bolt. I called them, they apologized and they sent out a pre-paid package and told me to send the stripped bolt back and they would send me back a complete bolt. It sucks to be without my favorite little bull barrel but mistakes happen, I'm not that upset about it, in the end they made it right.

Federal just called me on Monday about the ammo. They said they had fired off the rest of my box and had no problems. I told them again that I didn't think it was the ammo but I wanted to err on the side of caution and I would hate it if someone got hurt because I didn't speak up. The rep said that he was going to send me out a full box of ammo as a replacement, even though there weren't any problems with mine. He told me that it wasn't easy to find .22's anymore and they appreciated me sending my box of ammo in as a precaution to their customers. I thought that was pretty cool of them to do.

Not a firearm, but I have had excellent service from Lyman.

A few years ago when I called to buy something, the lady on the phone told me that she could sell it to me but would have to charge me MSRP. But that I should go online to MidSouth Shooters because they carry the item and discount 20% to 30%.

Earlier this year I called to see if I could get a replacement lubricant pressure screw for my 50+ year old sizing press. After the “Wow, that’s an antique” comment; No problem. I should get it in 5 to 7 days. 48 hours later it was in my mail box.

That’s why 90% of my reloading equipment is Lyman.

Dillon Precision (reloading). Bought a previously owned but never used 450. Powder measure leaked. Sent me a new one free, plus all new bushings and some extra parts all N/C. I've gotten them four other customers since then.

Leupold's service is nothing short of fantastic. Bought a new pair of binos that had the eyepiece threads stripped. Sent me a new upgraded pair N/C. Had a 30 year old scope that wouldn't hold zero. Again, got the newest upgraded model N/C
