Aside from Ruger, what companies have good customer service?

I am frankly tired of dealing with Savage customer service and supporting them. They have gone downhill thr last few years. I need yet another extractor and spring clip for 2 different rifles as they either wear out or there is a flawed design with their rimfires. (Poor spring tension and dull extractor hook?)

Their automated system says they are too busy to take any warranty calls, tells you to call back another day, then hangs up on you. I was able to speak to someone in a different department about getting parts BUT....they are out of stock on extractors and spring clips (22lr) and won't backorder them for me. So I was told to just "keep calling back every few days". What a crock of crap. Lol

Freedom Arms. They went above and beyond to help me out with parts and phone conversations of how to, so I didn't have to send the revolver in. Bergara USA / BPI. After a polite phone call and email conversation they said, "No problem we got you. Paid for the return (there now getting fixed, my own fault for the repair) FaXoN. Actually, called me up and asked how my build went after ordering the matched set Barrel and BCG. Ruger goes without saying many decades of great C.S. Armscor / Rock Island Armory. Took the time to have a conversation with me how RIA's and Taylor & Co. badged firearms differ. (Yes, the Taylor & Co. contract items are given a higher degree of in hand fit and finish time. David Pedersoli. Had an over clocked barrel on the Lyman no.2 / Overbaugh 75 sharps action. They took care of everything and came back perfect. Glock. Never had a problem but have called many times on various models with questions.

Just took 3 tries to get the issue fixed.

Seen on another board, apparently posted with a straight face: "Any gun should be working right after only two trips back to the factory."

Remember, "Good customer service" frequently translates as a willingness to sell a defective product but with a smooth line to make you think they are doing you a favor by fixing it.

I have two guns that I sent to nationally known gunsmiths recommended by a nationally known gun writer and coach that took multiple trips to get even close. Fortunately back when you could send a gun regular UPS for $6. Another of the same ilk never got around to my job at all, fortunately I was on his waiting list and he did not have my gun on his shelf.

Sig has been very good. I've had to use their service more than I'd prefer, but they were always on top of it. Tikka/Beretta was also very good to work with.

Sig was good, 9 day turn around on the P322. Colt was not. Three weeks and they sent it back to me saying nothing was wrong. Sent it back and another three weeks and they replaced the extractor on my Series 70. Never had to send any Taurus or CZ back.

It's probably been 40 years, but I had a bad experience (2 really) with Dan Wesson customer service, and I've never even touched another Dan Wesson product since. I sent one of their revolvers back to the factory twice (3 months each trip) and they never did solve the problem.
The only other handgun I've ever sent back to the factory is a Ruger Security Six. Turnaround time was minimal, they didn't charge me a dime, and it wasn't even their problem in the first place - some Bubba had done some kitchen table gunsmithing on its trigger before I bought it.
I remember sending my old Model 100 Winchester rifle in for a firing pin replacement years ago. Winchester did a recall on Model 100s way back then. It doesn't seem like there was much of a turnaround time, but there might have been. I'd quit using my Model 100 (my first big game rifle) by that time, so I'm not sure how long I was without it.

So I recently won a pistol from Savage at a ladies training event. I had to get my local FFL to arrange to have it shipped and when Savage received the paperwork I was sent a confirmation email indicating the wait could be long as they were very busy. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in about a week later.
Can’t comment yet on the quality or durability as this was only a few days ago and I haven’t even had a chance to fire it yet. I really know very little about the model, a Savage Stance, as I didn’t know of it previously.

I didn't realize they made such a thing until a few days ago. Someone here had asked about the new $1300 Savage 1911 and I thought to myself that Savage should wade in on something polymer, cheap, and more utilitarian since that's their typical niche. Then I found out they already do.

Pictures of the gun and targets are required with a full range report on your new Savage. Oh, and welcome aboard!

Beretta USA I had to send in a pistol for warranty repair. They sent UPS to pick up the gun on Thursday. UPS handed it back to me the Next Thursday. Exactly one week, including one weekend and shipping time. No cost to me. And they were very nice to deal with.

Mec-Gar gets a vote for good customer service for me! I had three 45 Auto 8rd Match magazines with the extended baseplates and they randomly would come apart for literally no reason so I emailed them and they had me re shoot those mags and pay attention to what I was doing and two of them come apart when putting them into my 1911 the third one somehow actually worked out ok. So they sent me three mag gut kits and they fixed the issue. The directions on the kits said the baseplate is supposed to click when putting them together and they never did that before.
Edit, I have like a dozen of their normal 8rd mags and they are perfect.

In all honesty, I have had good luck with customer service from any firearm related company that I’ve had to use. This includes Taurus. The exception is Lee.

Wilson Combat, Sig, and CZ have good reputations for customer service. That figures, because their products generally enjoy good reputations, too.

Companies that import other people's foreign-made discount guns might have difficulty maintaining a parts and repair business in the U.S. For those very inexpensive guns, I would not really expect much customer service, repair, or parts supply -- would be interested to hear if any of those companies stand by their products.

My gunsmith may be the only Dillon owner in the country who has to pay for parts.
If he has a failure, he will tell them how to improve the material and design so it will hold up better. They seem not receptive to user input.

I just go in fat, dumb, and happy, so they will send me stuff.
I did have to call twice to get an upgraded part for my S1050, the first guy who answered was going to charge me for it, but I hung up, called later and got the guy who told me about the improvement on a gun board. He sent it at no charge.

The only two companies I have had to contact for customer service were Ruger & S&W. With Ruger it was an issue with the finish. They sent me a shipping label. I sent the pistol in & it was back in a week corrected (for whatever it is worth if I had that particular issue again I would take care of it myself. I've learned more since then.

The other was S&W. They sent me a label. I sent the pistol in. It came back with the same issue. I called back requesting parts. They objected but did send them to me. I figured out how to resolve it myself. Never called back after that. I might buy another S&W one day but I was annoyed. I wasn't aggravated because I had an issue, I was aggravated because they did not correct it. FWIW I saw a post a good while after that happened by someone that said he kept sending the same model of gun I had an issue with in until they finally gave him a replacement. Maybe I should have been more adamant about holding their feet to the fire. I really just wanted to get the pistol to function properly though.

My experience with RIA was excellent. Had a pretty good experience with Benelli as well.

I believe my Dad had a good experience with Taurus.

Safariland is a horribly run company and I will never purchase anything from them again.

Ruger was excellent, and for scopes Primary Arms was awesome. I had a piece of plastic break off a scope cover before I even shot it. Reached out to them, they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Also, XS sights sent me a rear sight with no hassles when the tritium went dim after a few weeks of me installing it.

Simply Rugged sent me a replacement strap at no charge when the snap went bad on my Chesty Puller harness.
