Went to the range yesterday afternoon. Got a free pass form the wife to go and stay as long as I wanted!! Spent several hours shooting and then went home and started to clean. my son who is 7 decided he wanted to help me so I let him. Had a great time teaching him about guns and safety. I let him scrub the mag wells for me and he had a really good time. I expected him to get board after the first one. But he hung in there with me for a total of 5 pistols. I was so happy to have him take an interest in them and that I could teach him about safe handling.

I put some pics of the "Motley Crew" up to share.

It's pictures like those that really make me wish to be a dad someday. It's fun borrowing friend's kids to do stuff with but there's something amazing having your own to show what you've learned in life.

Some of the best memories I have are of me and my father shooting on the weekends. Next time take him with you. It's never too early to start teaching them proper firearms safety and the memories you build will last a life time.

Kids & Grandones too.

I remember my son by my side some 25 yr ago. Now I have a grandson who shoots w/ us & a granddaughter that goes deer hunting. They both clean the guns & the granddaughter caught me reloading about 2 weeks ago. It took about 10 times as long. It was 100 times as fun & even more profitable for the future.

Withers, I can say with all masculine security that neither you, nor your son, are unfortunate-looking.

Great jorb on teaching teh kid about safety and getting him int'rested in the hobby!

I already have plans for a good .22 bolt for him. I own a .22 rev that he can shoot anytime he likes. I will never turn down the chance to go and shoot with him!!

Nice to see some quality family time! My 11 year old cleans his 870 when we go shooting, and my 7 year old likes to help by wiping them down after I've cleaned them. :)

Very nice!

I have two daughters -- one 2-1/2 and one 13 months -- who I'm really looking forward to taking to the range when they're a bit older.

Cant make it :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I would love to thou. I have 6 computers that I have been sitting on for a couple months now that need to be fixed up so that I can donate them to his school. I thought that I had plenty of time then WHAM school is already be in!!! :what: :banghead:

Reminded me of likewise, I have lots of good memories with my son at the range. Actually i have never really had him help with cleaning, way past time for that, maybe this weekend as I have lots that need a going over.
