Fellow Shooters,

Midway USA currently has Green Mountain 10-22 barrels on sale. Anyone have one of these? I plan on matching it up with a hogue overmolded stock on my ruger 10-22 reciever.

Overall, they're "good" barrels. Some are great. They're better than quite a few but personally, I prefer better barrels from Clark, Shilen, KIDD or Lilja.

They are a decent barrel when bought on sale, I use an 18" fluted bull on my 10-22 and it is reasonably accurate. Not a true match quality barrel but plenty good for my level of rimfire plinking.

I have a fluted SS Green Mountain on my 10-22. I love it. It is very accurate, and I don't think you can get a better barrel without spending a lot more money.

I run a 24" Green Mountain on a silly 10/22 and it is pretty respectable

Cesiumsponge, can we get some specs on that rifle? Never seen anything like it before.

It looks amazing, and obviously shoots just as well.

acmax: sg2000 conversion by Ironwood designs

on a side note I looked and can't find the green mountain barrels on sale

I have a green mountain 16" fluted bull. With Aguila Match ammo I shoot dime sized groups at 50 yards. Are there barrels out there that can shoot tighter groups...yep, but they cost a fair bit more than my $100 GM barrel.

Happy with mine (16" fluted bull). I think it's one of the best "bang for the buck" 10/22 barrels out there. Or at least it was when I bought it.

Got beat to the punch but yup, Ironwood Designs kit. Everything but the trigger group and receiver is pitched. I'm always curious if it can get more accurate if there wasn't the barrel clamp up front. I got the barrel through Ironwood since it was an odd length. I haven't shot it in a while but its 1moa at 100 yards on a bad day. It's a bit more accurate at 50. A better shooter can get more consistency out of my rig. I don't consider myself a very good shooter. Here it is at 50

OK. The 10/22 that looks like a Walther WA2000 may be the coolest thing I've seen all week.

GM 10/22 barrels

I hope they are good, a cusstomer just ordered one and a Hogue stock for me to put together for him. Be here soon. Al

you may want to have a look at the fj fedderson barrels. I have one for my 10/22 and it shoots great! Well priced for the quality too!

If your going to spend good money on a barrel buy from- 1022rifle.com or from KIDD and CLARK CUSTOMS. GM is by far better than stock but still bhind this others in quality.

I have one, stainless fluted and could not be happier. Shoots better than I do.

I have a GM 16" fluted on mine. Shot some good groups using Wolf MT. Even Win Dyna Points shoot good in it.

My GM .920X18" barrel goes back to 2002. The shooter is the limiting factor with this 10/22. I think I paid about $80 back then, got my monies worth.

Finding the ammo the barrel likes makes a difference.

There is difference between gm and better barels . Problem is till you shoot a better berrel you may not see the difference.
