In another thread 1858Rem mentioned:

"there is also this green stuff you can get for sealing modern primers... might work on caps too, dont see why not"

Can seem to find this product online. I figure I'm using the wrong search terms. However I do recall having seen cartridges treated this way, but it was a long time ago. I seem to recall red as well as green rings on those primers. I'd swear, but aren't sure... that it was military surplus ammo.

Anyway, seems like an appealing idea.
 
Well, don't know if the old stuff I've seen was nitro-lacquer, but I did find this stuff out there:

One way or another I'm going to solve this weatherproofing, possible loose caps thing, LOL! Hopefully without going to a conversion cylinder (no doubt the high class way to go though. But then might as well just get a Blackhawk and be done with it.)
