Old revolvers aren't exactly my bailiwick, but somehow I got roped into working on and old S&W Model 30. Hammer wouldn't stay back and dbl action trigger would bind up. Took the side plate off and it looked like someone had filled the action with superglue. The guy used about 50 years of WD-40 on it and never cleaned it off. Stuff had gummed up everything from the hammer block to the cylinder release! Anyway, 2 hours of CLP and a TON of scrubbing finally got the gun working and it's a beauty now. Very indicative of old S&W workmanship. Guy bought it for $100. I offered him $250 and he just laughed. ;)

Anyway, the point of this is, does anyone know a place that sells grips for an Improved I-Frame? This old timer wants "them ivory handles" on his Model 30. It's a 69x,xxx serial number, so I don't think they had switched to using the j frame yet, which is a shame because grips for a j-frame are a dime a dozen. I'm certain that he's not going to be able to afford real ivory, but fake ivory should be just fine.

Thanks for your help. SC
