I belong to a deer hunting club in upstate SC. Much of our land is really thick, brushy timber, and I find that a ground blind is an ideal way to hunt those spots.

Problem is, I cannot figure out how to stay comfortable in a ground blind for hours on end. I have used a regular aluminum folding stool + pads, and a camo folding "soccer chair," but neither is very comfortable, and both will rattle/squeak at inopportune times under movement.

What is the best seat you guys have used in a ground blind?

You've covered both items I've used: collapsible stool & folding "bag" chair.

Maybe one of those 5-gal bucket lids that swivel & have a foam pad??

Believe it or not, an office chair. Lube the squeakey spots with cooking oil (little or no odor) from a squirt bottle. probably not practical if you have to remove it on a daily or weekly basis. But if you can leave it for the season, there is nothing I've found more comfortable. If it's an open top blind, cover it with a cheap BBQ grill cover to keep it dry when not in use.

I use a "Buddy" portable tent rated IR heater. My buddies blasted me for using the blind, my comfy chair and the heater but guess who can stay hidden and warm from dusk to dawn-

Now If I could just find a deer-

best seat i got, is an old swivel chairthat rocks, just needs some lubing is all really.

however you NEED to move around a certain amount per hour. simply to ensure correct circulation and prevent issues like, blood clotting.
wouldnt think that anumb leg is bad, but that numbness is bad badbad.

Here's a method that's worked for me. Get one of those cheap camping chairs that fold. Usually 5-10 bucks, and they're easy to carry. Biggest thing is, they have a back.

For hand warmth, a muff, and for foot warmth, toe/foot heaters in the boots.

Can't comment on blinds, as I've never used one.

Thanks guys. I like the old office chair idea. Looked on craigslist and there are a bunch of them for cheap. Think I will pick up a few and make some semi-permanent ground blinds for the coming season.

Bad Aim Billy - I find the camping chairs to be pretty comfortable as well and have killed does sitting in them, problem is that all of mine will squeak, rub, or make other noise if I try to move at all in them. I would hate for that to happen with a buck coming into range. I am a pretty big guy, but maybe those squeaking chairs are trying to tell me to lose some weight!
