I have used quite a few gun Cleaner, lube and protectants. From the older stuff like Rem Oil to the newer stuff like Froglube and Gunzilla.
I've had pretty good results with Rem Oil, it's reliable and inexpensive, has stood the test of time and all in all, I trust it.
I'm not knocking Froglube, but don't trust it in harsher conditions. I also don't care for the waxy residue it leaves. I do like that it is all natural and safer to use.
I didn't care for Gunzilla, to me it doesn't seem to last long.
I have heard great things about Ballistol from people I trust. I just bought my first can of it. I have treated 3 of my guns with it, now it's just a wait and see on how it performs.
I do like the ease of use, the smell isn't bad, it seems to stay on well and definitely has been time tested ( It has been around since the early 1900's). It's history is mostly in Europe, but is becoming more commonly used here. It is harder to find though. It isn't in most gun shops and definitely not in big box stores.
So far so good though.
What are your experiences with gun cleaner, lubes and protection products?
