I have been handling all sorts of firearms for many decades. Over the years I have gotten "a few" guns, and I have shot and cleaned and lubed them less. I have been prone to use 3 in 1 oil for cleaning and lubing. There have been a few failures to feed on some of my autoloaders, and some work perfectly well. I think there are two main reasons for jams. First, the cleanor (me) ; next, the cleaner (oil &/or lube). Should I use something like NagantMan does on Youtube? He says he uses charcoal lighter, instead of Hoppes, to clean; and makes own lube from 10weight oil and a few drops of STP. Any advise appreciated - signed, Novice Oiler:)

I've been guilty of using Rem Oil or CLP to do everything. I think a good cleaner/degreaser and a good oil would be much better for a thorough cleaning.

There are a ton of options out there, and everyone has their favorites, but I don't see anything wrong with the ones you mentioned.

Kano kroil to cut through the gunk and powder. Then after patches have been run through the gun with that then I wipe down the whole gun and work on the caterwaul again with eezox. I've found this makes them so clean you could eat off them. The eezox continues to protect.

3 in 1 isn't bad oil, but its not a powder or copper solvent. If you have copper fouling in your bore, 3 in 1 won't touch it.

I'd use something like good 'ol Hoppes to clean the fouling. Then if you want to lube with 3 in 1, knock yourself out. There are better choices for lube too, but it you aren't getting the gun smoking hot you're probably fine.

When you say a few malfunctions, are we talking about one per magazine, on per 1000 rounds, 1 per 5000 rounds?
