gun club or social club?

OK, In my mind a club membership should be considered and maintained as an investment. You are either getting a fair return for your money or you are not. If the latter you have one of two choices, take the loss and walk away or take the steps to become management and work to make the investment profitable. As one of my TOB's always said- talking a problem to death just means you still have the problem.

Really ?, guess you don't follow politics much.

ANY fool can see huge problems with the way the state, federal, local govt's are run.

Trying to fix them is as hard a task as any could tackle.

Want proof, until this past election [ Trump, obviously ] NOTHING new had happened and there were no turnovers or surprises.

So being extremely frustrated and disgusted with the present POLITICAL INBREDS is not a thing that can be toppled easily.

I am a huge fan of Man of LaMancha, and therefore LOVE the idea of tilting windmills.

And I have not given up,but as was said in a great movie tagline "A man has to know his limitations".

I am pretty sure that if I wanted to invest my life and my savings to fix the club ----- it might get done,I also see that might end my marriage.

Man has to know his limitations :)

I left the range where I had maintained an annual membership for many years over nonsense like this. I can get disrespected for free on any street corner, no sense paying for it.

I have never been much of a joiner. I have certain tastes and ways that I prefer to do things. I have no problem with people who want to do things differently. I am, arguably as "different " as they come. I was never much of a party guy, and relish the few loved people around me, and my own solitude. I guess I studied to be a cranky old man now for about 40 years. o_O My needs for a range are simple: me, and a few hand picked people go shooting. I don't like being a quasi-celebrity while I am shooting; that is why I left my last range. Two hours of well meaning questions/discussion about gun types and styles, gunsmithing kinks, last week's safety disasters, NRA legislative action and finishing up with " I got this ticket and it wasn't fair because..." (I'm a retired cop in a modest sized berg.)
I like the "off-peak" times. When all the other Joes are at work, I like to shoot. I am fanatical about precision, ballistics and reliability. When I pull the trigger on game or self defense, I demand predictable results. The range I shoot at now, is pretty well deserted during the week. (Hallelujah) It' nothing fancy, and I like bringing my own target stands. Their money maker is that the range house that is actually a tavern, which ajoins a large tract of public land they can plant pheasants on. The only thing out of that that piques me, might be to head out and miss a couple of pheasants with my flintlock smooth rifle and some #6 shot...alone. I'm all done shooting for the foreseeable future, as deer hunting sight-in is right around the corner.
I've made donations of guns and money to the club. If they doubled the annual range rates tomorrow, I'd be good with it, as long as I can still shoot, pop some water jugs, and fire my cannons once in a while.

To be quite frank, what a bunch of squirrels. It should not have been advertised as a gun club.

They should have listed it as a sorority for 18 year-old girls, who also like to shoot on weekdays with their pink rifles. Addition----maybe that was a bit harsh, but some things simply aren't acceptable.....
The clubhouse appears to be their low-budget substitute for a country club membership.

I had a very unexpected, first-time heart attack on Oct. 24th while entering St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett TN (it was a 100% blocked "Widowmaker" artery).
The Point is that Life can be too Short to put up with people like that--financial needs or not-- who operate your social club.
