Gun owner has ND w/Glock at show-Houston

How can you blame the gun when the operator was at fault?

First, he clearly violated the rules by bringing a loaded weapon into the show. A total nimrod. Especially since he was shopping for parts and would be disassembling the weapon.

Second, he failed the most simple safety check, a chamber check. If he was unfamilliar with that operation, he REALLY had no business bringing a loaded weapon into the show, besides the simple fact that it was illegal and he had to have lied to the front door guys. Beyond belief. That plus a muzzle violation and BAM!! ND and Injury all in one. Just what the rest of us need.

We get those types here in S Florida too. They're a franchise, I think. We have to declare firearms at the local gunshow and get them checked, empty and tied. I once had a regular gun show vendor with an unsecured/untied 1911 he kept holstered, take it out, showing it off to his friends at the show by pointing it right at me with finger on trigger while I was browsing next to his booth. Twice in the same show. The second time I looked up from another booth across the room and saw him next to me doing the same damned thing. Finally I exploded and screamed at him. Then I went to the show owner and had the guy grabbed and forced him to get the gun tied. Every time I see him I still want to punch him out.

BTW If you want to blame the gun, then blame all the other ones that require a trigger pull for breakdown, like all Kahrs for instance. Glock bashing is fine if you must, but don't forget about the others.

Bottom line though, is that it's an operator induced error, and he deserves to get his permit yanked for violating the sign AND being stupid. And endangering everyone at the show and giving us all a black eye in the process.

If you like them, then you should stop spreading misinformation about them. You do have to pull the trigger to disassemble a Glock, but you can pull the trigger without violating any safety rules.

I was thinking about rule #3 (I'm not "ready to fire" when dissassembling a gun) but I appologize if that offended you. I suppose it's not really violating any rules.

I call BS.

Everybody knows that gun shows are gun free zones:scrutiny:

There's no loaded guns in gun shows, everybody knows that :neener:

ALL guns are zip tied :neener:

Looks like gun control worked just as good in this case as it does anywhere else.

What an embarrassment to the gun owning population
Did anybody think that the main reason they don't allow loaded guns in gun shows is for this very reason?
The gun owner was at fault not the gun. How does that saying go.....You can design for a dummy but they will always find a better dummy.

From Col. Cooper
1. All guns are always loaded. NO exceptions! Never treat a firearm as if it is empty and "safe."

2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. (For those who insist that this particular gun is unloaded, see Rule 1.)

3. Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule. Its violation is directly responsible for about 60 percent of inadvertent discharges.

4. Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.
Sounds to me like he broke all the rules.

I remember when I took hunter safety class and the teacher "completely" unloaded the gun and showed the class.
He then asked the class if it was still loaded and to raise our hand.
Only three of us out of a class of 25 raised their hand.

ARREST THE GLOCK! LET THE POOR WIENER GO!

Seriously. C'mon Little Sarah One Note, let's not blame the gun.

But here's a question. What's he being charged with? Can they charge him with Criminal Trespass? Yes there is a 30.06, but the GRB is a Government building? Didn’t think .gov owned buildings could post?
