Anybody know of a good shop in Las Vegas? I don't get it. I've been to some of the biggest stores in Vegas. I ask them if they sell Saiga rifles and they look at me like it's the first time they've heard that word. Ok, fine....so I ask what selection they have on AK's, and if they have anything at all, they have bottom of the barrel stuff.

I'm specifically looking for a Saiga 7.62x39. Fresh out of the box, AK conversion done, whatever. Any help would be appreciated. :)

"The Gun Store" on Tropicana (if memory serves me correct). I think they have a web site. It's been a long time, but I would be very surprised if they didn't have or could not quickly get whatever you want.

Thanks, I haven't been in there yet. Was probably going to be the next place I went. I am starting to think I won't have the option to get a Saiga in town.

Any other suggestions out there?

Try Citadel Guns and Safes on Dean Martin. It is right behind Tommy Rockers. They carry quite a collection of military based rifles.
As for the Gun Store on Trop, I have never found the staff there to be helpful in any way. They always seem more interested in the tourists there to rent full auto than in trying to actually sell anything.

Henderson Tactical sells Arsenal.
Is Black Rifle Armory still around? They used to have a nice selection, though I don't remember too many Automat Kalishnakov clones.

Best,
JBR

I'll vote for "The Gun Store" on Tropicana. I was there as a tourist a couple weeks ago. The people in the store part (separate from the rental-range part) were nonetheless quite friendly and helpful. I had a good impression of the place. No one I dealt with there was spouting BS or acting holier than thou, which is more than I can say for A LOT of gun shops.

And, while this is probably most places in Vegas, they are clearly 100% friendly to EBRs and other "tactical" or "tacticool" stuff.

Yes, they're still around, but they've moved. No longer off Lake Mead Dr, they're in Green Valley now.

Thanks again for all the replies. I was actually planning on stopping by Citadel either today or tomorrow. Citadel is a shop I had overlooked for some reason and came across it again the other day while searching for information.

I've heard a lot of mixed stuff about The Gun Store, but I'll head that way if Citadel or Black Rifle don't have what I'm looking for.

Have you tried Machine Gun Kelly's Vault by Sunset? If they don't have the firearm I want, I can have one transferred through them for $25 (have CCW permit). A good thing if you can have good deals from out of state. Also, American Shooter Supply at Arville ( close to Spring Mountain intersectoin). Its a big enough shop with lots of military style firearms and a 50 yard indoor rifle/pistol range which allows you to shoot your own ammo as long as the bullet is not magnetic (don't know the max caliber but they allowed me to shoot 30-06 and 7.62x54). I remember seeing AKs and AR's. But can't remember Saigas since I was just walking by to get to the range.
The Gun Store at Tropicana, they won't even let me shoot my .38 Super with the ammo I bought from them the previous outing. Nice guys, but more for business profit (understandable) than supporting shooters. They did point me to American Shooters' range though.

Arms of America in Flagstaff, AZ is the nearest listed Saiga distributor to Las Vegas. I call Citadel or MG Kelly's and see if they won't order one in for you. Come to think about it, I've only seen Saigas in one gun store and that was in Elko years ago. Any dealer should be able to oreder for you.

Another good store with a great indoor range is Discount Firearms. They're a bit hard to find for a non-local, but that computerized range of their's is nice. Just punch in the number of feet you want for distance, hit enter, and it zips down the range automatically. Very nice.

M39SKY, hurry up and buy that new gun you want before the first of July. NV CCW holders will have to pay $25 for a NICS check, just like everyone else.

Best,
John Bear Ross

I stopped by Discount the other day. Seemed like a nice staff, decent looking store, but didn't sell Saigas, and only had poor choices in AKs. The range looked cool though, and I will be revisiting the store for that at some point, if not more.

The only shop I knew of in town to stock Saigas was Island Tactical, and they were located up on South Durango, they however have shut down. Look up Henderson Defense, they will order you whatever you want. Nice guys too.

I got this Saiga from Island Tactical before they shut down. I love the rifle, but was thinking of selling it to fund other projects.
