I'm guessing you are asking how much? I wound up giving $500 for it. Not the steal of the century but I think it was more than fair. I see a lot not as nice and with no box or anything with an asking price of $600 at most shows. Doubt they sell for that, but the guys are selling them somewhere because the model 36 and 37's seem to disappear.Dare I ask... ?
I noticed that at the show and the pictures do make it worse than actual but it is heavier than you would expect from a factory fired only. One thing was different though, it had a set of snap caps in the box which tells me somebody did some dry firing. Was it enough to put a turn line? Looking at the cylinders, it appears only 3 have any carbon around the end. So who really knows? Easier on 6 shot as every other cylinder will have residue if factory fired. 5 shot I think were still fired 3 times so it is harder to tell. But really doesn't matter as I bought it to keep and I'm sure if I do it will get fired some more at some point and time. If I was to sell or trade, I would never advertise as for sure only factory fired. Even though my main interest is 3" K frames, the little J frames especially in nickel are just so pretty. For some reason, I think they are much more appealing than larger nickel guns. That much of a turn line says more than factory, BUT it hasn't been shot a lot
I bought a 1975 M36 back in 2009 that was shot with only 5 rounds. Going price then was $450-$500, I paid the shop only $300. Before that I heard about those buys, I finally got one.
... I wound up giving $500 for it. Not the steal of the century but I think it was more than fair ...
Shop owner knew the previous owner and sold him that gun with a box of ammo. His wife brought back the box of ammo with the gun missing only 5 rounds. The gun sat in the drawer for 20+ years. How do you know it was shot only five times? I put 300 rounds through M12 before I sold it. The gun hardly showed wear.
I’d give $300 for a nickel 36 in a minute if in good shape. I have several and none were bought that cheap. You can’t have too many! There is no rule. I’ve checked with the authorities.Makes me want to pick up the nickel 36 at the local pawn for $300....
No box or docs.
Do I need another J frame though?
