Fantastic showing by the LGS owner who truly took the high road and turned this turd around on Kelly.

nice... I'm sure he had to pass back ground and fill out form... just like everyone else... I don't see what point he would have made...

Evidently, he would have made the point that law-abiding American citizens, even the horribly misguided ones, have the right to buy guns. We must remedy this at once! Both Kelly and his wife openly admit they own and use firearms. I agree with Kelly - they shouldn't be allowed to.

2A rights should be just like US citizenship. Once you formally renounce it, its gone and you aren't getting it back.

It will be interesting to see if the mainstream media give this as much coverage as they did his original purchase and "explanation". :scrutiny:

I would be surprised if it even made the news Walter. But lets not turn this into another media-hate thread!

How does a gun store go about rescinding a sale? Is it like a Re-Po?

The owner of that store deserves a medal, for not becoming a pawn in a political game.

The donation/raffle and Eddie Eagle contribution is great.

This LGS deserves the store of the month/year award.

Very nicely done.

What are you guys talking about? It may not make the news? It already made the news - that's why we know about it. Notice the link in the OP.

Despite having made it on Fox News the 'Mainstream' media will probably keep it totally surpressed, as with so many other news stories which they are not allowed to cover (in-depth reports about Benghazi...woops).

I hope to be proven wrong about this, but wouldn't it already be on ABC, CNN et?.

Any business can deny service or sales to any person, so long as you don't do it for the wrong reason. The reason can be non-existent, totally arbitrary or a well reasoned moral/ethical one, just as long as it's not discrimination.

well, one the reasonable assumption that Diamond Police Supply could be put in bad light if the gun was used as intended by Kelly.

In other Mark Kelly related news, his dog just killed a baby sea lion. All of the headlines read something to the effect of "Mark Kelly pulls a dog off a baby sea lion", making him out to be a hero to sea mammals everywhere. If you read the article, his dog got off the leash and killed a baby sea lion. The media can put a spin on anything. . . .

The owner of that store deserves to lose his business license.
He made a deal.
Now stick to it.
So if you make a deal and then find out that the purchaser has intentions of using the weapon to commit a mass murder you should just stick with the deal?
This guy stood up for what he believes in and denied service to a person that intended to use the weapon for negative purposes.
Cudos.

Just as the KKK enjoys the 1st Amendment Right to freedom of expression and assembly, do we deny them that right? As Voltaire said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.".

******baggery aside, is there any legal reason why Mr. Kelly should be barred from exercising his 2nd Amendment Right to purchase a firearm?

You don't like Kelly. Too bad.

Mark Kelly publicly admitted that he planned to transfer the weapon after he gained possession. Granted someone may buy with intention of gifting it later, it brings into question the legitimacy of his intent. An FFL has a right to defend his business from bad press or a possible sting.

On Facebook, Kelly said he planned to turn the weapon over to the police.

"I don't have possession yet but I'll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do," Kelly wrote. "Scary to think of people buying guns like these without a background check at a gun show or the Internet. We really need to close the gun show and private seller loop hole."
