Here is something interesting from Fox News. Neil Cavuto gives a detailed list of resent gun massacres from various countries. Some like Norway have very rigid gun control laws yet these laws did not stop a mad man from shooting and killing 77 children.

Good Observations

The author makes interesting points. Plus in Osaka Japan, one murderer used a knife to kill eight kids and wound 13 others and two teachers. Of course, Timothy McVey just needed a panel van, some fertilizer,nitromethane racing fuel and a fused blasting cap. Crazies don't need a gun.

According to an article in the Huffington post, group shootings have tended to occur at a rate of about 20 shootings per year in this country. The pattern has gone on for decades, whether or not we had "assault" weapons bans.

I wish there were an effective way to focus on the people and train friends and family to look for the signs that murderers often give off. Maybe in one or two cases we could head these things off. Maybe not. True loners will always fly under the radar screen. Families don't seem to know what's going on until it hits the news.
