Immigrant Mass Murder Syndrome Strikes In Missouri

"Yes, the killer of three people in that hostage-murder incident in a church in Neosha, MO on Sunday has now been revealed to be an immigrant - from Micronesia.

The suspect, a man in his 40s who was from the Pacific islands, was being held in the Newton County jail pending the filing of charges.

The worshippers were Micronesians, reportedly imported to work in a poultry plant."

What in the world is a "semi-automatic machine pistol"?

One of those terrible evil horrible awful dangerous automatic cop-killing sniper assault weapon hidden guns that go around wantonly causing crime and social disruption. Mrs. Snopes Clinton will solve that problem.

It had to be a...

"semi-automatic machine pistol, it was the police chief that said so........The police are the government appointed experts on firearms so it much be true. Before you all flame me, I was a police chief in a small department 25 years ago........chris3

…oversized magazine

How did it fit?

Are they even made semi auto?

The Tec-9 and all its post-ban derivatives are semi-auto only.

I would argue that they are not semi-auto but rather single shot with a greater than zero probability of chambering rounds for follow-up shots. A probability that exponentially approaches zero the more times the trigger is pulled.

I carry in church. Every once in a while I start to feel fidgety about it. Sadly, just about those times, something like this happens and confirms why I do.

Missouri has provisions for legal concealed carry- to include in churches (with the consent of the minister or person in charge of the facility), at least according to the FAQ at one county sheriff's office I found:
============================================

6. Are there places in Missouri I can’t carry a concealed firearm after I get my permit?

n. Any church or other place of religious worship without the consent of the minister or person or persons representing the religious organization that exercises control over the place of religious worship.
=================================================

But it isn't enough just to have the laws in place to allow legal concealed carry. SOMEONE- some plain ordinary citizen- has to exercise the personal responsibility to obtain a permit to carry, a concealed firearm and the skill and ability to use them properly and effectively in order for the legal provisions to mean anything.

Sadly, in this case no one did.

No one cares more about each of us, our families, friends or neighbors than we do ourselves. There is no one else we can expect to assume the responsibility of protecting us if we will not do so ourselves when we have the opportunity. Stories like this one bring home that lesson at a terrible price. It is a shame and a tragedy that so many in this country seem willing to pay that price again and again with the blood of innocents.

It was a Micronesian church, kind of figures that the shooter was the same ethnic type as the congregation, isn't that how a lot of murders go?

Legal immigrant or ILLEGAL immigrant????-----the media appears to be intentionally leaving out all relevant details at the present time!!

Perhaps the press doesn't have the facts to be able to say? Maybe local LEOs are doing their jobs and not leaking to the press?

Isn't this the sort of posting that got L&P shut dow?

From the Joplin Globe (local to Neosho): "McCracken said police found three guns at the scene, a 9 mm handgun with an oversized magazine and two .22-caliber pistols."

Source.

The previous quote I posted is from the AP. :banghead:

Why I carry.

There was a(nother) thread recently about "Why do you carry". This merely highlights it. Sure I carry a pistol to and during church. Not because I'm so worried about a shooting in church. I've got a family that I need to ensure their safety if we break down on the way to church. In the resteraunt eating dinner after church. And just maybe in church.

Lee hit on a topic that a lot of people are unwilling to accept. We are only important to ourselves and a few people around us. The world in general won't miss a beat if you, me, or anyone else simply ceased to exist right now. It is nobody else's responsibility to make you safe. Even if it was, they'd have their own problems and you'd be relegated to a distant second. The BG will do what he wants, you don't matter at all. To him, the guy driving down the street, your co-workers, anybody. Deep down, maybe not even to the person you think is a good friend.

Nobody had a CCW, or at least had it with them. Why? Because it won't happen in a CHURCH of all places. Now you're imposing your values on another. Makes you underestimate them. You lose. Just like those folks lost this past Sunday. You don't matter to anyone else, neither do your values and morals. Offended? Get over it. Things like this happen because you and I don't matter to others, they'll do what they want for the reasons they want. All you can do is protect yourself and the very few people who matter to you. I'll protect me and the very few people who matter to me.

"Saimon shouted "liars, liars, you're all liars" before opening fire with a semiautomatic machine pistol commonly known as a Tech-9, Police Chief David McCracken said. "

If it is the LEO that made this ignorant statement, he should be strung up. If it was the reporter that created this bit of idiocy, he should lose his job. Whenever someone spews hyperbole like this, we should flood them with mail... But how does one cme up with an address to do it?

My letter to the chief.

Dear Chief McCracken..

First off let me say I am truly sadened by the tragedy your community has recently endured. Unfortunately too many fall to this same end by the hands of illegal aliens.
That said, the statement "Saimon shouted "liars, liars, you're all liars" before opening fire with a semiautomatic machine pistol commonly known as a Tech-9, Police Chief David McCracken said." is a disservice to the citizens of the United States of America and appears to be an attack on the 2nd amendment of the Constitution.
Statements to the press need to be accurate, considering that a spin will be put on the information once it reaches the desks of the editors. As you know, there is no such thing as a semi automatic machine pistol. I am very sure that you are, both, experienced and more than capable of handling the intense needs and pressure of the position you hold, but others may be lead to doubt via a statement that contains information that is so wrong.
I only ask that if further statements are made, concerning the animal that committed this, it is more carefully worded.

The hearts of my family and me go out to your community and the families directly effected by this heinous crime.

Sincerely yours,

Mark Dante

There was a shooting several years ago in the St. Benedict's Abby in Conception Junction, Missouri, several were killed before the shooter shot himself.

I carry in church, as do my 2 sons. There is no way I'll let this happen while I'm at church.

L&P is closed for the time being. Please don't post your L&P threads in here.

I want to reiterate what Larry said. If this turns ugly, I will request that the mods close it.

I don't know about this particular man, but in general Micronesians are legal immigrants. They are residents of a U.S. Trust territory, and so can immigrate here with a minimum of paperwork.

Large numbers were imported in the 1980s to work in nursing homes, especially in Florida and the central United States. Many were grossly taken advantage of by the people who brought them here. They mainly immigrate because they have overpopulated the islands they come from.

In my area many of them work in chicken processing facilities or the mushroom plant in northeast Oklahoma. They do not assimilate well, keep to themselves, and have very different values than most U.S. citizens. In their culture if you are drunk, you are not responsible for your actions, and husbands are allowed to beat wives. They eat raw pork and drink in public. As you can imagine, this creates some conflict sometimes. Frankly, many of our area police officers are afraid of them.

The gun part is strange. I have never heard of a Micronesian using a gun in a crime before. I really, really hope that doesn't become common. They usually just fight with fists or baseball bats. If they start to use guns to settle disputes among themselves, there is going to be some serious slaughter.

Regarding the legality of carrying concealed in church in Missouri, If you do not have the consent of the pastor or the person or persons in charge of the place of worship, and carry anyway, all that will happen is you will be asked to leave if you are "discovered" and someone is thereby offended. Should you refuse to leave, you can then be charged with trespass. Missouri's concealed carry law intentionally failed to make carrying into a prohibited area a crime, and there is no penalty for doing so. Any CCW holder in Missouri should be aware from their CCW class of that fact, and I'd be surprised if there aren't many Missourians who routinely, quietly attend their church while armed.
