S&W 3rd gen 9mms. Ive had a 5906 and currently own a 5926. Both have been amazing weapons, 100% reliable with all kinds of ammo, accurate as crap, and the triggers rock my socks.

The Colt Python that I recently bought from a former co-worker. I could see that it was in perfect condition, but the trigger was a wonderful surprise. Absolutely no take-up or creep in single action. The instant the trigger moves, the hammer falls.

Just got an old 1917 S&W .45DA at a gunshow for $340. The barrel was cut to 3", the original sight moved back, and it shot about 13" low at 25 yards. Used 230gr Speer Gold dots. I slowly filed off the front sight until it came up to point of aim, and it shot a silver dollar sized group.....dead on. I think it's a keeper.......................

Original Glock 17 in 1986. So easy to shoot, rugged and super reliable. Still have it and going strong.

My original Whitney Wolverine/Lightning. I had that orange pellet version as a kid and always wanted the real thing. I always thought it was a cool design, but routinely heard how inaccurate and temperamental they could be. But after a little TLC, this one pleasantly surprised me with it's accuracy and reliability.

Bersa Thunder UltraCompact Duotone in 9mm

Took the thing in trade for an old shotgun and thought I had probably traded way down and did not expect much from a JUNK PISTOL.

Fired it just to see how it shot and if would even shoot.

LOVE THE DANG THING.

3000 plus rounds through it, not one miss feed, fail to eject or miss fire and some very old and questionable ammunition was used.

My first Glock 19, bought in 1990. A SIG P229 SAS. A Ruger P345. A Bersa Thunder 380. For the Glock and SIG, I was expecting them to work okay but they actually have been outstanding. For the Ruger and the Bersa, I bought both because of price without much expectation at all and both of them have been totally reliable and very accurate.

Ruger P95DC

Extremely outperformed by expectations. Very accurate and reliable, even with cheap ammo. A little top heavy, likes to flip, but has not been an issue for me for rapid, reliable fire.

This is one that I bought at a local gun shop that I felt pretty darned good about. It was an older Kimber Classic Custom..series 1 which had been hard chromed as well as had fiber optic sights installed. It had the rubber grips as shown and I replaced them with the Kimber carbon fiber grips. (not shown) The gun is dead accurate...eats ANYTHING..beautiful gun! It is absolutely a beautiful gun..and for $600 OTD. The picture was made to look kind of grainy, so it doesn't "shine" in the picture like it does in person. It has some "Bling-bling" to it!! :D

Surprised me...

Taurus Millenium pro 24/7 9mm... for what I gave, it gave me more. Very easy to shoot, and accurate.
Taurus Tracker 627SS 357 mag with 6.5 inch ported barrel. It is just plain fun, nice trigger also.
P-64, it just does what I want it to do. Made me a believer in carrying a handgun of moderate power.

S&W 5906, sold it, but it was a gem. Never a problem with it. I want to collect the whole SW 3rd Gen autos now lol

I shoot 38's and .45's. I was harrassed into buying a KAHR PM9. I had no use for 9mm or small semi auto's. My mistake. At 10 yds. this gun shoots right with anything I own. Light, small, accurate, and feeds all my handloads. I now carry this as much as my 340PD.

Most recently the one that suprised me was an old AMT backup 380. Loaned a guy my lawn mower and when he brought it back he gave me this little pistol. It took a few hours cleaning to get working and it had no mag. Bought a mag but it had a burr that would catch the cases and jam. A few strokes with a diamond file and that went away. First time at the range at 7 yards every round went through a 1 inch dot. And after the cleaning and mag work there has been no failures to anything.

Well, 22lr finally said it. My Smith 3rd gen. It's a 3913 that has become my baby. My Smith revolvers and Ruger autos (SR9 & LC9) didn't exceed my expectations but just lived up to them as top notch.
