Anyone know a good gunsmith in the LA westside area?

Right now I need work on an old S&W model 19-3. Beat up shooter.

I also have a 1911, so those suggestions are helpful.

Thanks

I have a Browning High power copy .
I'm looking for the extractor.

where can I find one or a gunsmith that will replace it.

Hello,

Isn't Kings still operating in LA? They used to be THE place for 1911 mods.

I can mostly suggest smiths in Orange County:

Tussey Custom - does 1911s and BHPs, among others. Been featured in many magazines and does pretty work. Does high end fancy work as well as carry mods, etc.

Lee's Gunsmithing - Cowboy Action smith - excellent. Used to work 1911s but too busy with the cowboy guns.

Evan's Gunsmithing - good solid gunsmith for all types of guns. Does a lot of tactical/military-ish work. Does fancy and custom work too.

Bolsa Gunsmithing - factory rep type shop. Solid and dependable for repair work, factory authorized, etc. I'm not familiar with their doing anything exotic.

YZF - Are they still around? Small appointment only type shop. Excellent work on race guns, competion guns. Might be hard to get ahold of.

There is another gunsmith shop in OC but I forget the name. Two young guys apprenticed at Evan's and then went out on their own. More into tactical-militaryish stuff. Solid training, sharp and talented, but I don't know whatever became of their shop. Sorry.

Sorry if I strayed off BHP. I have a FEG HP I wanted to take to Tussey for years, but never did.

thanks a ton.
I think it uses a different type of extractor.
not the same as the Browning High Power.
