Thanks for the clarification. If in fact the sales were through unlicensed individuals, then even the cursory DL glance is unnecessary by law. The seller is practicing CYA, but not very well.

Mr. Fink, I fail to see how the author stating with approval that many gun owners he’s met are religious people constitutes “forcing†his religion on you.

Well, Nightcrawler, I quoted the passage in question for you in my earlier post. It is in the third paragraph, conveniently located near the beginning of the article where it can immediately alienate the RKBA fence-sitter who is also for religious freedom over state-mandated Christianity.

The people who “try to expunge [crosses] from public sight†are concerned only about religious iconography on public property. They accept and generally support religious displays on private property.

in florida you can go to a gun show with a florida driver's license, cash in hand, and walk out 5 minutes later a couple hand guns and a rifle in tow.

I find this very hard to believe as I go to about 10 shows a year. You may get some hobbyist to sell a couple of guns to you but not a dealer. Most of the private sellers I see have a table sellings some of the other crap that gathers at shows with a couple of personal guns to sell. Or they're those guys walking around wtih rifles with a price tag stuck down the barrel. The last show I went to I bought two $20 Iver Johnson breaktops that did not even work and had to go through the check and "cooling off " period. And I think it would take more than 5 minutes to find the seller and guns unless you had a prearranged meeting.
And why, not how is buying privately at a gunshow any different than on a street corner except that you know that you are around people who will not be shocked should they see the deal go down.

Thanks to all who answered my question. And I can see why I was confused on the issue. It is hard to see something that does not exist. For most of us anyway
