guys i am raising the funds for a 1858 remington 44c but need your thoughts on 8in barrel versus 5 1/2in barrel which one and why etc?

well guys my pistol is still shooting great i have now two fixed powder measures one at 21gr for plinking loads for cardboard etc, and the other one in 35gr for full power loads and i use a lubed wad under each ball to help keep the powder fowling soft. but i just love this pistol and it rides with me everywhere I go, it and I shoot alot at the lake lol!

I had a Spanish Mauser in 7.62x51 I would probably have missed it with while standing on the bank.
