dont own either but have shot the crap out of both and comparing an h&k to a xd is like comparting a ferrari to a ford.

I wouldn't trade my '05 4x4 F-250 for 10 Ferraris!

I can't really comment. I haven't shot my USP yet personally (I do own a USP .45 ACP fs) however I have shot the tactical version and the recoil was really nice for a .45 . I haven't shot an XD but the guy that was with us owned one and he seemed to like his.

welcome to the HK addiction! There's no rehab for it!
Enjoy it, shoot the heck out of it and don't look back. As for the XD I've shot one, it functioned well, was accurate and reliable, however it did nothing for me. HKs just have that special something.

I gotta agree, my last gun I purchased was a USPf .45. Very fun gun indeed. I swore off on polymer guns a while ago, of course that was without trying out the HKs.

My last two purchases have been both polymer (which I swore off), and HKs.

They live up to the hype.
