Hello ppl!
My name's Alex, I'm 16 and I live in Italy. It's the first time I post in this forum, and I hope to get new advices, and maybe give advices too, in the future :D .
Today I fired for my first time with a firearm (only CO2 before), with the CZ 75 Kadet (.22 LR) precisely. I had a lot of fun, hitted the target in various black parts and white too, not bad for the first time (unluckily I haven't a photo :( ).
I felt damn good with that pistol, not too heavy and well balanced. Have you ever tried that pistol? What do you think?
Post some comments!!
p.s: the distance was 25 meters, CCI cartridges .22 LR.
Bye !! :)

Welcome aboard. The CZ75 is a fantastic pistol, and the Kadet conversion makes it even more versatile. Shooting at 25 meters your first time out is ambitious. You may want to start off a little closer until you become more accustomed to shooting. Glad you had fun. It's a great sport.

Hey Snipy,

Welcome, Bongerno, to THR. Where in Italy? I love the country. Favorite place is a small town 45 min S. of Florence called moteriggioni. What a great place. in October durring the harvest festival they have a wonderful fireworks display. The Tuscan countryside is a magical place, Sienna, San Germaniano, and surrounding area.

Dove in Italia?

TX1911fan, I don't know if is it only the range where I go or Italy, but fireing closer than 25m is illegal... only law enforcement can shoot closer (lol pretty useless in my opinion, and believe me, our policemen shoot VERY BAD -.- ).
Thanks for the welcome !!

glockman19, I live in Piemonte. It borders Switzerland and France. I have been in Tuscan (Toscana in Italian :D ) 1 time, and yes, it's beautiful (specially for boar hunting :p )!!!
Thanks for the welcome !!
p.s: the translaction is horrible :D :p
This is the right one:

Il mio posto preferito è una piccola cittadina a 45 min da Firenze, chiamata Monteriggioni. Che bel posto! In ottobre, durante la festa della mietitura, fanno dei bellissimi fuochi d'artificio. La campagna toscana è un luogo magico, Siena, San Germaniano, e le zone circostanti.

Prolly nobody wouldn't care of the translaction, but I wanted to write it anyway, lol. :D
Bye!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your first time out. What exactly are the laws regarding private ownership of firearms in Italy?
You have to own a special document (sorry but I don't know how it's called in English :( ) for sport purpose. You can only go home <-> range in a pre-established way (and vice-versa).
For example, if you say that the way to the range is Bla bla street, you can only go out of your home, take the car and take Bla bla street. If you take another way you're ****ed. Another "document" is for self-defence purpose, but it's VERY HARD (we can say impossible...) to obtain.
With the sport one, you can buy and keep all weapons (exception of war weapons) you want, short and long, 3 commons, 6 sport weapons and illimited .12 cal weapons.
If someone enters in your home and you shoot him and kill him you're ****ed up. Italian law about firearms is very restrictive (and stupid imo).
Sorry for the crappy explanation but law is not my field :D .
p.s: In Italy, 9x19 para is illegal (lol). You can shoot with 9x21 IMI.

Snipy,

Piedmont is a great place to live. I really enjoyed my stay in N Italy. I spent time in Como, Lugano & Stresa.

So no war weapons...No AK's AR's FAL's, M1A's? What Glocks are legal in Italy? 10mm? .40? .357? .380?

And I thought things were bad in California?

glockman 19, yes Piedmont is very beautiful.

Speaking about weapons... AK's, AR's etc are illegal in AUTOMATIC mode. Civilians can only use modified weapons that shoot only in semi-automatic, but I think that they are illegal anyway due to their caliber (5.56 NATO [.223] illegal, 7.62 [.308] I think it's legal). For example you can shoot with a civilian version of HK Mp5, that shoots in semi auto.
I don't remember what calibers are legal, but I can say for sure that the following calibers are legal:
.177
.22
9x21 (9x19 para only for law enforcements, civilians cannot use it)
.40 and it's variants (S&W etc..).
.44 and it's variants.
.45 and it's variants.
.357
.308
